Isn’t there a little flat bit in the middle of the roundest side? I’m sure there is on Bovril jars (not home to check at the moment)
Haven’t seen it- where’s it being broadcast?
Bloody immigrants, coming over here, trying to save our buildings…
Were WRNS officers called Lt, Lt Cdr etc during the war?
In my time with WRNS wearing blue badges (1980s & 90s) they were “First Officer”, “Second Officer” and so on.
Was Ms Barclay a Lt Cdr as a unique instance or was that the same for all WRNS in those days?
It seems that everything Ed Davey says is really popular, yet for some reason the Lib Dems’s polling is still surprisingly low.
Obviously their image just isn’t glitzy enough to attract the voters…
“Yes, my cat is called Nigel.”
⬆️ that’s the fess!
Ahh. I saw a comment mentioning the Magic Roundabout, but I’ve only ever been on the one at Swindon…
This looks great! Where is it?

Women have always gone to sea and faced the sea's dangers. Women were in many of the naval losses chronicled here, and are numbered among the casualties. Remembering them, and all the women afloat and ashore whose lives are caught up with the sea, on this #InternationalWomensDay #NavalHistory
My local GP’s surgery had about 8 Drs, and you generally see whichever one is free when you book an appointment. So the odds are that you’ll see a different doctor whether you ask or not. It is possible to request specific one, for continuity purposes, but I have never bothered.
My enemy’s enemy and all that…
And I’m delighted to see it- it’s much better for the game to have real competition among all the teams in the 6 Nations. The England team are really pretty weak, but the improvements in the Italian team over the past few years are astounding!
Forza Italia !!
I’m with Monzo, and got a bit of a chuckle from their obviously tongue in cheek summary. Some people are far too sensitive about seeing their own spending reflected back at them!

I missed the bike wheel spindle and bike brakes, but I’ve seen bikes without brakes in the past.
I thought the car’s fog lights were in the wrong position, rather than it not having a number plate.
Got the first 8-9 easily, but the rest were more of a head-scratcher.
I’ve made this recipe a few times and can confirm- delicious!
You should probably double the amount of garlic though.
Surely straight westerly from Kuwait through Iraq, Saudi, Jordan and Lebanon or Israel out to the Mediterranean would make more sense?
It begs the question : has she really changed her views this much, or is she forced to toe the party line, as dictated by the leadership?
That’s due to arrive here in Portsmouth overnight 😟
The US have released video footage of the attack from the submarine, so they were definitely at periscope depth. Still unsure whether they could or should have contacted the ship & demand its surrender. Or ordered it into port.
Sinking it in this scenario seems … excessive?
Lovely weather too!
I went back to check, and yep - that’s what he said…
I swear I just heard Pete Hegseth say just now that this was “the first enemy ship sunk by torpedo (or maybe he said submarine) since WW2”.
I suspect the crew of HMS Conqueror would like a word…
Isabel Oakeshott: anti-migration commentator, economic migrant to Dubai, possible future evacuee of the very British state she insists is broken.
Isn’t it funny how mobility becomes acceptable when it’s your own?
Ooh - I’ll have to listen to that one!
Is this the latest edition?
Years ago I was onboard a British warship cruising close to a deserted, sunny beach on a Mediterranean island. The crew were really keen to drop anchor and go ashore for a BBQ and spot of sunbathing but the Captain was firm with his response:“No, that’s called ‘invasion’ and we won’t be doing that”🤣
If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.
It genuinely took me a few looks to work out what was wrong with this image… is Cyprus in the wrong place? Might the label be pointing at Crete instead? What else was wrong?
Then I saw it 🤦🏻♂️
And of course this time around the US would be doing it without any NATO allies. Americans might say that they don’t need them, or that they’ve never needed them, but in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan, their contribution was significant.
