the thing about this is i think the new character they’ve invented to be the re9 sobbing blorbo girl is like genuinely wonderful and the best part of the game by far to the degree that any time it pivots to a leon bit i’m a little bit actually mad we’re getting away from grace and her problems

9 is clearly mostly a sequel to 2 so sherry’s status quo is kind of a necessary fact but but in a game that seems to be actively avoiding referencing even the more tone-matched re4 remake At All, they did reference actual stuff from 6 with her more than they needed to i think

think it’s really charming that people at capcom still carry a torch for resident evil 6. people may not remember but they BELIEVED in that game at the time. it was supposed to be BIG deal. and i like it a lot. it’s nice that there seems to be some love for it on their end too even though, yknow
