Very well, just because the author did her own promotion, here are 4 US Kindle cpies of @cemurphy.bsky.social's ROSES IN AMBER! Only 4 because amazon restricted the number of purchases I could make.

The cover for the novel Forged for Royalty by Andrew Knighton. Three swords crossed across a crescent moon inside a ring, against a background of swirling green and yellow.

Text next to the cover:
War has come to Estis, as Raul and his allies try to free their homeland. But Raul is also battling with his own future and the forces thrust upon him; with the dangers of politics, magic, and love. The fate of a nation lies on the shoulders of a fake chosen one, an idealist forced into bitter compromises, an uncertain hero for a troubled age. Can a rebellion built on lies lead to a better future?

New book day!

A fake saviour, a one-handed warrior, & a shape-shifting actor set out to free nation. But can they survive a web of politics & prophecy? The story that began with the award-nominated Forged for Destiny reaches its thrilling* climax.

And cabbage is so lovely! Its a revelation! Also broad beans, i don't think anyone in my family realised you have to double-pod broad beans so we were always served these big tasteless grey things the size of bagpipes, not little vibrant green nuggets of deliciousness.

Having tried swede all the ways I've been posting here, I've concluded that it's underrated and gets a bad press over here. I don't know whether thats because of bad school dinners, or because its regarded as "poor people food". Same stigma as turnips and cabbage, maybe?

Tesco Finest which is a mix of corn, rice and maize flours (I think). If you can get it i will buy some from you :)

Now I looked that up and I think its similar to paprika. Its a Turkish spice made with dried flaked bell peppers. I didn't have that, but i did have fresh bell pepper and paprika...

...and interesting meals all year round, eating seasonally, with veg we have grown ourselves here on our land in Wales. We are aiming for 65% self sufficiency on average; obviously this varies by season etc. My partner also has various food issues that just add to the challenging nature of the task!

For the new followers, #365DaysOfFood is me holding myself accountable and trying to eat something home grown most days. Its not 365 consecutive days, and its not 365 different recipes, but it is me often trying new things, working out if its possible to eat a varied diet....

Tonight is D&D; our DM is a fantastic cook but doesn't feel the need to eat seasonally, so tonight should be a break from 156 Ways With Swede....

Found the only packet of GF orzo in Tesco, chucked in a bell pepper and some kale. Bit faffy but less faffy than a risotto with the same kind of nice warm goey mouth feel (i have been craving risotto a bit but its really hard without using loads of cheese, which is difficult with Chris).

Silent Running opening prayer (1972)
Silent Running opening prayer (1972) YouTube video by Buzz Smith

Douglas Trumbull's Silent Running was released 54 years ago today.

"In a future where all flora is extinct, only a few specimens have been preserved in a fleet of space greenhouses."

A sci-fi classic that shouldn't be missed. Bruce Dern was fantastic as Freeman LowellπŸ‘Œ

If it was a lithium based fire in the vape shop, Li fires require specialist extinguishers. Normal extinguishers make li-on fires worse. This is something that should be more widely known considering how many devices now use lithium batteries.
