Spring has finally arrived up here in the hills. So grateful to once again stroll amongst earth’s gifts. You would think after 30 years of making embossing plates I’d have more than enough, but that is not true. I’m always growing and discovering new approaches to this lovely process.
What a week! Many a mug was made. I’m presently working on pots for the July 26-27 @hilltown6potterytour that will take place here in Western Ma.

This one is going to be really good! Two weeks to luxuriate with your hands deep in clay while in the heart of Tuscany. Does it get any better?!

My host at @stjohnvipottery just finished making 200 small pots to donate to a local school here in ST John for a fundraising event. Casey’s heart is most definitely in the right place. I love to see such a strong and giving community!

Sometimes handbuilt pots warp as they are drying and shrinking. They end up rocking a bit and won’t sit flat. My solution is to sand the bottoms of bone dry pots using a sheet of drywall screen before loading them into the bisque kiln.
