Federal agents have kidnapped hundreds of immigrants in recent weeks.
Outside the ICE processing center here, protesters are gathered for another Friday morning demo. Last week's ended in tear gas and arrests.
ICE vans periodically rolling in.
We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.
They can call it whatever they want, but by setting up a "Unified Command" to handle crowd control at Broadview, the Cook County Sheriffs and the Illinois State Police are performing security work for ICE—something that is not supposed to happen in this state.
