Big YouTube channels are modern day tech startups. The only difference is you get no payday at the end with a big channel unless you leverage it to start your own.

My girl works in television, all these people's complaints are normal for people in that industry and they knew that going in. These people signed up to work for a YouTuber and got tricked into working at a production company.

Seeing people leave big YouTube channels to successfully start their own has shown me that large channels only work because the employees and the fans have a parasocial relationship with the YouTube channel.
