SHE SITS AROUND WATCHING HERSELF IN HER OLD MOVIES WHILE SCREAMING ABOUT HOW SHE WILL DEFEAT THE HATERS
I am now watching Sunset Boulevard for the first time and I am way too stoned to handle the epiphany that David Lynch styled himself after Joe Gillis and Donald Trump styled himself after Norma Desmond

I donβt know how people do more than two without another grownup in the house. A friend of mine once said, βOne kid is an accessory, two is a lifestyleβ and man that was π― lol
is this anything
Trump has fully shattered the world we all grew up in. Itβs a dramatic break from how things worked before, even compared to the Iraq War and other misadventures - the United States abruptly tumbling over a cliff and becoming literally more reckless and domineering than Putinβs Russia.
The American political class is utterly delusional, adrift in a dream of normality, unable to process the actual reality of events on the ground, where the US just launched a completely unprovoked war against a massive country, murdered its leadership, and demanded its conversion to a vassal state.
Alito and Thomas are far-right cranks who've given Evangelicals almost everything they've asked for! ACB's been in a weird Pentecostal-influenced charismatic sect for her entire life! Right-wing Catholic judges are how the GOP got to have its cake and eat it too, and even that's not enough for them!
also it's the GOP that filled SCOTUS up with Catholics precisely because they could cherrypick hard-right judges who held politics similar to Evangelicals while still presenting as Catholic intellectuals!
I've long thought that the whole point of the GOP picking Catholic justices was that it let them cherrypick people who have views and politics similar to Evangelicals (Alito a hardcore trad, ACB a member of a Pentecostal-influenced charismatic sect) but present as Catholic and thus "intellectual"
Now that said, if you need to cover up a Nazi tat in order to disavow any sympathies with Nazism, I think itβs an odd choice to cover it up with one that invokes elements of Norse mythology instead of almost anything else
Iβm under the impression that removing one is a long and tedious process that takes several sessions over the course of months. If youβre already in a Senate campaign and need to get rid of an inconvenient tat ASAP, a cover-up is much faster

Put another way - the Sanders/Clinton split in 2016 was a real, substantial cleavage in the base that damaged Dem chances in the general. I don't think the Talarico/Crockett split represents a divide of the same character and magnitude, and therefore the Sanders/Clinton comparisons can be misleading
Of course, but I think people are leaning on the old Sanders/Clinton dichotomy too much. That split involved race, gender, *and* substantial political differences. The Talarico/Crockett split is mostly about race, gender, and tone/affect. Their stated politics are not that substantially different.
To be fair, though, that map is also just a mirror of racial demographics in Texas. Crockett did well in East Texas because East Texas has a lot more Black voters per capita; Talarico did well in counties that were more White and/or Hispanic. In terms of policy, they were both rather similar.
If anything, I think this was mostly about the Dem coalition in TX working through some feelings about identity politics far more than it was about any old Sanders/Clinton type political divide
lots of people just saw "Presbyterian white boy" and assumed he was a moderate or conservative, and lots of people who just saw "black lady" assumed unelectable turbolib even though she's arguably more moderate than Talarico in a few minor ways.
I think part of the weirdness of this primary was the mismatch between the candidates' actual positions and the superficial *assumptions* that posters and media members made about their positions based on their identity. Their politics appear to be fairly similar and somewhat progressive, but...
I view the ShamWow guy as a tap root through time to a haunted and diseased past. Anyone who watches this Ad will witnesses every aspect of our contaminated soil animate this corpse of celebrity. Blink and youβll miss deathβs grinning mug between every frame
Anyway, I do not think it's possible to make more of a banger about the topic of push-button war
FWIW, Bexar County (San Antonio area) early voting already passed '22 midterm primary *total* votes, and Dem ballots were up way more than GOP ballots. Also a big jump in people who had voted in gen elections before but not in primaries
