At my lowest point, I met him. The bus driver who looked at my address and justโฆ knew. No questions. No wrong lines. Just action. This man was either a transit god or hallucination. Doesnโt matter. He delivered me. Legend.
Bus driver said, โJust go back to the corner.โ The corner? Which corner? There were so many corners. I became one with my suitcase. I dragged it like it had sins to atone for. Took a trolley. Somewhere, I lost part of my soul.
Couldnโt find the bus stop. Time became a rumor. Waited 90 minutes. Finally got on. A man sat next to me and began what can only be described as โoral history with no exit ramp.โ Missed my stop. Because of this manโs vibes.
Caught a 4:15am bus to the airport. Felt powerful. Felt invincible. Got to San Diego and decided to keep the bus energy. Mistake #1. This was not a journey. It was a prophecy. And I, a fool with a suitcase and too much faith.
