JUST IN: Conservatives and Liberals work together to make Basic Income happen in PEI.

"Poverty is a policy choice. Let's choose a different policy."

GBI can cost 5% of what poverty costs, with virtually 0 work impact. PEI's Progressive Conservative leadership has been for it.

Someone needs to go back to civics class… what this creates is the opposite of democracy.

Why are those in power so afraid of being held accountable to the rule of Law?

Not to gender everything but look, they’re saying it out loud: the AI tech push is about erasing the gains made by women and minorities this past generation. Less β€œtouchy feely” DEI and cooperation, more young white guys with crypto wallets β€œdisrupting” everything 🫀

A vintage black-and-white photograph from the 1930s showing British aeronautical engineer and motorcycle racer Beatrice "Tilly" Shilling (1909–1990) seated confidently astride her Norton racing motorcycle outside a brick building. She is a woman in her mid-20s with short, neatly combed hair, wearing a full leather racing suit with long sleeves and trousers, and tall leather boots. She smiles broadly with a proud, spirited expression while gripping the handlebars. The motorcycle is a classic Norton model (likely her modified 500cc International or M30), featuring a visible fuel tank with branding, exposed engine, sprung front forks, large spoked wheels, a side-mounted oil can or tool, and no front mudguard in racing style. The setting appears to be a workshop or garage exterior with a brick wall, drainpipe, and open doorway in the background. The image captures her daring personality as one of the few women to earn the British Motorcycle Racing Club's Gold Star for lapping Brooklands at over 100 mph, blending engineering prowess, speed, and trailblazing spirit in an era of male-dominated fields.

In 1940, British engineer Beatrice Shilling designed a simple brass restrictor that limited fuel flow just enough to prevent carburetor flooding in the #RAF Spitfire & Hurricane fighter planes during #WWII.

She was born #OTD in 1909.

One data centre or one million homes? Mapping Ontario's proposed hyperscaler boom Canada’s National Observer found and drew from multiple sources to put together a map of planned data centres in Ontario, and found at least 15 projects with a combined capacity of 2,202 MW currently ...

Data centres are coming to Ontario, and it’s sort of incumbent on people and governments and communities to understand: what does that mean? What are the costs? What are the benefits?” This is a key moment for those questions, Enoch explained. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/03/02/n...

None of Ford's claims about the new Science Centre are true.

Claim: estimated cost of new Science Centre is $322 million

SMEs and entrepreneurs are not well served by Canada's financing system, which is dominated by big banks.

The Province’s Tightening Grip Over City Roads Doug Ford’s government continues its fight against bike lanes and vehicle taxes…

Ontario’s new Bill 60 was passed in November and is known for taking away tenants’ rights. What’s less well known is that the omnibus bill also strips municipal control over roads and pushes a pro-car agenda. Michael Koy reports.

Metrolinx and the city spent nearly $100M on SmartTrack stations that may never be built, documents reveal Confidential documents seen by the Star show that roughly $97 million has been spent on stops at King-Liberty and Finch-Kennedy that were indefinitely deferred in 2024.

The idea that many in Toronto's corporate class consider John Tory a viable candidate for mayor is truly mind boggling.

He was elected on two things: Smartrack and don't embarrass us like Rob Ford.

And he failed completely on both.

Canadians pay about $3/month for CBC.

That funds national news, emergency coverage, rural reporting, Indigenous & bilingual programming, and Canadian culture coast to coast.

Lose it, and we rely more on U.S.-owned media to tell our stories.

Worth it… or too expensive?
