Oh, this is a nice grant call! I applaud 👏 Dutch healthcare research agency ZonMw for this. #NegativeResults are also results and we do not #publish them often. Wasting #animals on unpublished (unpublishable?) experiments is just not right.

I do not know how I managed this, but I have a grant written, experiments planned, students instructed, manuscript draft written, meetings planned, and I can enjoy a relaxed weekend... It's beautiful.

Relax and ski with the family = The best way to spend the last moments of 2024. Still 1 more week of holidays and then back to work. There is an amazing manuscript to be finished, a grant proposal, and new exciting experiments with #cancer treatment.

There are many #postdocs in #academia, but not so many #permanent researchers.
This study shows where hundreds of Biomedical Sciences Phds ended up 10 or more years after their #PhD graduation.

The most striking points for me are in the thread.

Beautiful view on the water canal from my home office today. Calm place for some grant and manuscript writing.

This is a problem in many countries. People do not understand that antibiotics will not help with their virosis. They feel betrayed that the doctor doesn't want to help them.
We scientists work hard to develop better antibiotics in the labs. Spreading knowledge is equally important!
