When Bodhidharma stood before emperor Wu, he was asked for the essence of Buddhism. Bodhidharma replied, "vast emptiness, nothing holy." People (perhaps futilely) like to talk about the vast emptiness because it's the hip thing. What people talk about less is the nothing holy.
Actually, funny-not-funny story - I finished Final Fantasy 15 around the second anniversary of my fiance's death. At the end (spoilers), Noctis dies and is reunited with his fiance. In my illness, I thought it was a sign that I was supposed to do the same! Didn't pan out, though.
My fiance died 11 years ago today. The world really is vast and wide.
