There's also the fact that Rowling has been fairly explicit that the money she earns through Harry Potter she's putting into anti-trans lobbying efforts.

There's a difference, IMHO, between an artist with a shitty private life, and an artist using their money to fund regressive social change.

This is the inevitable consequence of the use of this technology and I don’t care how much Amodei jerks himself off that he doesn’t want it used for autonomous weapons, he is responsible for this and should be in The Hague.

"We don't want to hire people fresh from universities, we'd have to train them first", oh my god, crazy!!! Wow!!! What a fucking nightmare that must be for you, company with thousands of employees and many, many managers who earn too much money.

"wehwehweh, people who studied X don't know how to be a good office drone, teach them how to be a good office drone during their studies", no, absolutely not, you do that, what the fuck, that's the worst job in the world, why should a poor PhD candidate do that on their minimum wage.

I love how private companies have somehow convinced everyone that universities have neglected their duties to train good employees. In reality that has been the responsibility of companies forever and never that of universities who are supposed to exist to gain and develop knowledge independently.

Picard: It's a computer simulation of thoroughbred horse racing called Umamusume Pretty Derby. The program was quite popular in the 21st century.
Riker: Mm. 'Pretty' is accurate. That Goldship is quite something.
Picard: I hadn't noticed. I enjoy the simulation's tactical qualities.
Riker: Yes, sir.

The absolutely disgusting rot at the heart of British media summed up in a single headline. A wretched clique of pathetic, racist, servile dogs.

They did this in the Lebanon War in 2006: they just bombed anything that looked like it had any social or economic value - bakeries, ports, factories, on and on, then told the world every single one was a military target. It was all lies then, just as it has been for years here.

The most recent example being Chow Hang-tung’s challenging the regulation that women inmates have to wear long trousers in the summer vs men being allowed shorts. Which I think also gets mentioned here.

Our hood of the month, the beautiful Cambridge Bachelor of Music. Historical details are at burgon.org.uk/hood-of-month
β€˜For once, Charles Franklyn’s immortal phrase may be confidently applied, since few would contest that this hood really is one of the most beautiful and dignified in the world’.

And if you’re unfamiliar with Charles Franklyn, you’ll find out plenty in Nicholas Groves’ biography of the irascible fellow, β€œCharles Franklyn: A Man of Strong Opinions.” (A subtitle which describes him mildly.)

We cannot let Keir Starmer drag this country into another illegal war.
That's why I tabled a Bill to require Parliamentary approval for the foreign use of British bases.
Today, I urged the Prime Minister to fulfill the promise he made in 2020 and pass this legalisation, now.

They were terrified of this guy because of the social forces he unlocked, quite accidentally. But he’s a letter-writing, petition collecting kind of politician, he thinks he’s there to enable others. A proper populist monster would lay waste to the British political landscape.

You can nab some delightful stickers and incredible bespoke pet portraits (🧡), all while helping an animal; what's not to like?

Plus one of the milestones involves me and I wanna do it lol

I remember learning about the Hays Code in film school and how it made it so that any amoral protagonist had to meet karmic justice by the end of the film and going β€œwow, that’s really silly” and then once a week I log online and see people argue that we need stuff like that now or it’s problematic

Even if you want to be very strictly Aesopian about it he spends half the show in his pants getting humiliated by his family over his constant ridiculous lies, and getting people he cares about hurt or killed, all as a direct consequence of his shenanigans
