Great question!
Great question!
Yikes 😳! Glad you’re ok!
Don’t talk about how much you support immigrants or want ICE out if you support throwing my community out into the cold.
You’re now responsible for people self deporting, not having enough money to feed their families, and their displacement. You’re just like ICE.
most evictions are for “back rent” no?? what in the world are they doing?!
Agate, Housing Stability Coalition, Avivo, Catholic Charities, Aeon, People Serving People, Project for Pride & living, Beacon, & Simpson Housing services all joined the Mayor’s press release for his veto of Pause Evictions Save lives.
These orgs officially stand on the wrong side of history.
As someone who spent every day trying to protect my community from ICE, to the point where I was personally assaulted, I’m so disappointed Mayor Frey vetoed this bare-minimum policy that would show that he could move beyond cuss words & take real action to provide material support for our neighbors.
My little mutual aid team has fundraised over $250,000 in rent support over the last 3 months JUST for families at our neighborhood school.
$1 million for the whole city does NOT come close to meeting the scale and depth of need in our city.
Fuck Frey. This is unacceptable & will cause harm.
“We can’t afford that”
But we can afford THIS? GTFO
If you think we're buying any part of a SPPD internal affairs investigation you've significantly overestimated public trust and goodwill
Reposting bc I can't stop thinking about the fact that, as a homeowner, I apparently deserve more than 6 months if I am in crisis and need to figure out how to get the money together to stay in my housing but my neighbors who rent apparently only deserve 30 days.
A substitute address, not an anonymous address. Mail sent to a SAH address must have the LOT # & participant name. Connecting property record to a SAH address would completely undo the confidentiality of the address. Even if a pseudonym was used the LOT # is publicly tied to participant identity.
How would you envision that working? It seems to me that a way to contact SAH participants (even indirectly) from property records would add safety risks to a process that is already complicated.
This is gorgeous! And I too didn’t know there are so many beautiful inks for fountain pens.
I had really been sleeping on El Sazon. I’ve been dreaming about that burrito for DAYS now. Please support them so I can keep going there because oh em gee it’s incredible. Best camaron in town and it’s not close
CALL AND EMAIL FREY DEMANDING HE UPHOLD THE EVICTION EXTENSION & LEAVE THE VETO PEN IN THE DESK
100%. And much like now there was also so much community care and life-saving mutual aid that will never be documented anywhere.
Tbh, as someone who lived in New Orleans and was displaced by Katrina, you probably still aren’t angry enough.
Why is it always presumed that a landlord cannot be asked to weather a bit of a bumpy ride for a short period, but tenants must do everything right or face the consequences? If a landlord can't handle a limited amount of arrears, they shouldn't be in business.
Maybe it’s just because it’s been so long since the last one, but that felt like an extra long awooooo today.
Call this morning!!!!
Mpls Ward 11 get on your council member about this.
Hard.
Wards 7 & 5 keep after yours as well.
Pick it up & don’t let them have peace about this.
Final vote is this Thursday, March 5, 2026.
And Payne was absolutely right at the end; this is baked in anyway. What we are talking about here is whether we want to deal with people being behind on rent or whether we want to deal with that plus an additional displacement crisis
Let how exhausted I look here give you a window into how hard mutual aid organizers have been pushing to keep our neighbors safe and housed when no one else will. Please write to your councilmembers and the mayor and urge them to pass Pause Evictions, Save Lives!

CommonBond's website: "We know that when people have a stable home, children do better in school, adults find wages to support their families, older adults maintain their independence, and neighborhoods can flourish" -- but apparently the faster you can evict people the better.
Literally sitting in the City Council hearing about eviction prevention paying rents while I’m waiting to speak. If you want to help keep 11 immigrant families in public housing from being imminently evicted, I’m trying to raise $2500 for them 💛

This is so needed!
i 100% understand that absolutely no one normal wants to go to a city council meeting at 9am on a tuesday in the middle of the shit we are living through. we would ALL rather being doing something else. but if you are able to, you have a chance to make a real difference.
Our little standwithminnesota.com team staved off multiple evictions today. I’m so proud of us. And the stories are so heartbreaking, and there’s still so much need.
If you can help, I’ll get it directly where it needs to go.
