Anyone who thinks as Ogles does need to go to England and report to the Parish Church that his ancestors were a member of.

Literally everything we've done since then is pluralism.

I remember reading about this. Something we assumed was instinct in animals was actually culture, and culture can change. This was in baboons.

A timely reminder.

you see we didnt hit iran. iran slipped and fell in the kitchen and thats why iran has a black eye. if iran would just stop being clumsy we wouldnt have to get so mad at them. if iran would just use its brain we wouldnt have to yell at iran...

let's push for helping squid attain an average life span of 75 years, not 4. this will undoubtedly help advance their civilization far enough along to sort out our problems as a way of curtailing future problems for them, too. i think we probably crowdsource this to completion in a couple days.

Johnson: I think what we are learning from the Epstein files was a well-coordinated act of treason. If you think about how they use blackmail to get policymakers to act outside of the best interests of this nation and our Constitution, that’s treason.

The same people falling for AI and FOX news, fall for him and vice versa....we have a crisis of critical thinking in the US. I'm not sure what changes it other than pain and everyone relearning the lessons of humanity.

That is the technically correct term for statements that have no truth value i.e. are capable of being neither true nor false.

The words coming out of Trump's mouth are 100% reactive, a reflection of what he believes will impress/pressure/deceive the people he's talking to. Again, the most useful comparison is an LLM trying to complete the prompt. He's doing autocomplete all the time, independent of truth or reality.

A President for the LLM era: Nothing he says is capable of bearing a truth value. It is neither true nor false.

Trump saying things has no probative or epistemic value whatsoever, including as to his own state of mind and intentions

We all know this, by now. And yet somehow the lesson does not sink in

Trump did not announce a U.S. policy then walk it back. That is not what happened, and media presenting it that way does a disservice.

Trump said words he thought might appeal to his audience in the moment, with no connection to actual policy, then did that again with a different question/asker.

every few years society reinvents the "coffee flavored coffee" rant from first principles. in fact the first known incident of coffee-flavored-coffee induced rage dates to 1534 when Ahmad bin Abd al-Haqq al-Sunbati persuaded a group of listeners to destroy coffee shops in Cairo selling flat whites

we are weeks away from 'Trump attempts to make horse a Senator' and the only thing stopping him is that he is too much of a sociopath to form an attachment to animals

A very interesting open letter to Donald Trump was published today by one of Dubai's most prominent figures.

@KhalafAlHabtoor is richer than Trump +his family will ever be, even after White House enrichment, and he packs a LOT of clout.

Here's the translation.

Americans have no idea how much the world is shook, folks. Here in Thailand they have a running tally of how many days' worth of fuel the country has left.

β€œWhite” homeland will always need nonwhites as servants and workers. What it can’t have is equality under the law. That’s the β€œhomeland” they’re looking for.

Americans think there’s a limit to how much things can get worse. There isn’t. But there’s also no limit to how much things can get better. Even from here.

Your friendly therapist reminder to do something today that moves the needle, no matter how slight, towards the world you want to see. Donate a few bucks to a gofundme or mutual aid. Research ways to get involved in a cause that aligns with you. Have that conversation with someone. Move your body.

"He intended to take over the Middle East and he's conceded and surrendered to all of those countries because of me," Trump told CBS News on Saturday night, when asked about Larijani. "He's already surrendered to all of the Middle Eastern countries because he was trying to take over the entire Middle East. That's why all of those rockets were long ago aimed at those countries. He had that planned, long before this started."

Just imagining the headlines if Joe Biden said he didn't know the de facto the leader of the country he just went to war with.

These interviews show Trump has super tenuous grasp on what's happening in Iran. Who's really running things? Hegseth? Rubio? Cat Turd?
