One of the biggest dangers is when someone writes a song they think will be perfect for Eurovision … often doesn’t go well.

Oh I’d have ended up stranded on more than one occasion as a result.
😬
If anyone wants an update, I’m up to a plan D.
And now we go live to my head as I try to work out how to get to and from Salford on a weekly basis.
There’s a live page here on the absolutely massive fire near Glasgow Central train station. In terms of practical travel news, the station is shut and closed “until further notice”. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cd...
Might be worth Bluesky using slightly more neutral language in its version of the trending section …
Also to flag, I’m seeing many repeat misinformation offenders I remember from previous jobs taking an interest in this. So verify stuff before you trust it.
In the grand scheme of things it’s a small deal, but I am somewhat relieved not to be attempting to go down to Salford tomorrow…

Didn’t realise Czechia had seen the Midlands’ finest soap, fair play.
The Lowland League in Scotland suddenly threatening to get very interesting again…
I suspect France would welcome that comparison. The knack with Rosalia is that she has this huge international fanbase so seems like a sleeper hit if you’re just watching our chart, but is a huge deal.
Half the battle is identifying the countries that are desperate for the win, you often get just a little extra from them to push them over the line. France and Finland come to mind here.
France have not won grown-up Eurovision while I’ve been alive. And I wasn’t born yesterday.
The Eurovision juries clearly have to reward this if performed to this standard live. If the public get behind it … well, I’m seeing a distinct lack of contenders this year.

Following in the footsteps of Flo Rida, it appears Boy George is now going to represent San Marino at Eurovision. Both appearing alongside Senhit, who must just open her contact book at a random page each year.
unfortunately I lost it at this extremely stupid New Yorker cartoon
The UK song probably has more German in it than the German song.
There are calculated reasons to take a risk at Eurovision. The song that finishes last is often not the worst one, it’s the one no-one notices. If loads of people hate your song but enough people love it, they’ll vote.
All on the stage performance for me, this one.
Safe to say the UK Eurovision entry is very different to anything its ever sent before - and there had been a lot of calls for that sort of approach. Also safe to say it’s impossible to say how this one will do until we see it on stage.
Good news: the joy of Scottish Twitter appear to be alive and well.
Bad news: it seems to have shifted over to TikTok. Which is a bit of a pain for those of us just used to tapping out our thoughts versus filming a full video, but hey ho.
There’s something a bit Doctor Who about it all from what I’ve seen, which is in no way a bad thing. Feels like the sort of thing that 1% either way could be amazing or completely the other way. So, er, yeah, no pressure.
Almost time for the UK Eurovision song. No pressure.
Well, there have long been calls for the UK to take a risk at Eurovision. Definitely feels like the approach this year.
Not saying I watched too much Sanremo, but the new Apple clock design looks familiar.
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is dead, Iranian state media reports.
In Eurovision, nothing says winner like a violin. Trust us - bring a violin. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bfw...
