I can't find it atm. I think originally a comic strip directed at Christians for making up a depiction of hell and then living in fear of it. But I've seen it co-opted to refer to every kind of group for making up or exaggerating their enemies to be worse than reality.

I'm worried it's like that meme of the guy drawing cardboard monsters and then cowering in fear of them.

It's almost unfair that so much of the American population will just believe the lies the Trump campaign spills without consideration. I hate that it feels like there's no solution to make people care about what is actually true.

I kinda feel crazy here. I see a lot of people talking about the people who are talking about Blue Sky being an echo chamber, but never the actual conversations about it being an echo chamber

It's good to remember that most people are normal, well-meaning people. Even if every conservative I know is lock-step with the "Russia good!" narrative, that doesn't mean most people hold that idea, especially if they don't live online.

The right siding with Russia on this issue is the most apparent case of conservative hive mind thinking.

I feel like 80% of the posts I see on my "Discover" feed are people saying, "wow, those magas are sooo mad we have a successful platform" and "look at those dumb magas saying we're in an echo chamber from their echo chamber"
