More prevention needed.
Analysis shows [NHS England data] that "people experiencing greater deprivation were 36% more likely to be admitted to hospital with pneumonia [...] These are patients more likely to live in damp, mouldy and poorly ventilated housing or areas of high air pollution".

Just a thought: if these sorts of proposed uses of healthcare data result in lots of people opting out of the use of their data for planning or research purposes, there's a risk this kneecaps public health and the NHS's ability to plan services and monitor inequalities in access to care.

New avoidable mortality data today from the Office for National Statistics, outlining 113,000 deaths that were avoidable through prevention or treatment, makes the case for a prevention revolution more important than ever.

β€˜A silent majority’: MPs underestimate support for green policies, study reveals Exclusive: From solar subsidies to meat taxes, minority rightwing voices appear to drown out the consensus

πŸ“£ New research in @theguardian.com shows MPs massively underestimate public support for climate policies.
