These are the Handshake help pages for various situations:
This is the main link:

Here is a note about βdeactivated accountsβ that explains how alumni from member schools may find their accounts inactive.
support.joinhandshake.com/hc/en-us/art...
Here are the key details regarding βUniversal Accessβ:
-Independent Accounts: It is possible to create a Handshake account and use its core features without being attached to a specific university.
-Users will need to create a username and password, followed by two-factor authentication.
2. You graduated years ago and canβt access your old university email OR your university does not support Handshake?
You can still register to access the career fair event.
-we configured our fair as "Open to All.β All can access the event, regardless of their institutional affiliation.
Are you a current undergraduate or graduate student, youβve checked the registration page, but donβt see your school included? They have not signed up for the event.
-contact your schoolβs Career Services office or your Department advisor or chair. Ask them to request to join the event!
But if you've escaped my spam storm about the career fair, there is still plenty of time to pre-register as an employer (companies, agencies, organizations): www.bit.ly/join-crm26
Job seekers can register for the event through their college or university Handshake network account, then review the employers, jobs, and available meeting times. And this is the link for job seekers: www.bit.ly/crmfair26

Chicago viewed from the air. The cityscape is clouded with winter mist, buildings emerging from the freezing fog.
A family walks through a door into a brightly-lit room. Through the glass door, the view shows an enormous room with a hulking steam locomotive engine. This is an exhibit at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.
So this event allows all those little programs to unite and pool their talent, students and alumni, while employers, agencies, and orgs can recruit from anywhere in the country or world!
A view through the historic community library building in Muskegon, Michigan. A long open room with an arched ceiling spans a long way to the end which features arched windows. Murals adorn the long walls amid shelves of books. The room is warm, bright, and snug.
This pool of talent and all they doβfor creative and smart growth, wise planning, and placemakingβare invisible to universitiesβ admin because there isnβt a spreadsheet bubble that captures the value of hundreds of small professional programs, from skilled trades to doctoral-level academic experts.
These fields support $1B in permitting, planning, development, and compliance work in #EnvironmentalServices; also within a $1T contribution of the #ArtsAndCulture sector just in the US economy alone.
But most hiring is local/regional and by word-of-mouth. Thatβs crazy.
A white, middle-aged man sips coffee from a to-go cup outside an historic building at Wayne State University. The light brown brick and dark stone elements contrast the pale blue of the clear winter sky.
This career event brings together the diverse professionals that support #HistoricPreservation and #ResourcesMangement: #archaeologists, #planners, #historians, #designers, #trades, #engineers, #business, #tourism, #development, #artists, #geospatial, #architects.
