I admire those US Olympic athletes who are speaking out about the policies of the Trump administration. They know what's waiting for them when they do it - insults, mockery, threats, online harassment. Who knows what else. And they're doing it anyway. Somehow it gives me hope.

I know the analytics people say Kyle Tucker is great, but with a .266 average last season, 22 homers and 73 RBIs (and a .233 average and 9 home runs in 72 playoff games) he's not worth $65 million a season, which is what the Dodgers have given him. ($260 million over 4 years.) That's ridiculous.

We're halfway through December 26 and so far I haven't seen any turtle doves or a partridge or even a single flippin' pear tree. No one else I've heard from has either. Every year the same thing. Disappointment. I'm starting to think that whoever wrote that song was a loser spreading fake news!

With Trump threatening #Greenland (ie, Denmark) again and not ruling out military force to take it, it's worth noting how impossible it would have been just 10 years ago to think that a NATO member might need to request NATO assistance against aggression from the United States.
Good grief. There were Norse (ie, European) settlements in Greenland by the end of the 10th century (there were already Inuit people there) and the Roman Catholic Church had bishops appointed there as early as the 12th century. But Americans "discovered" it. Trump is an ignorant man.
