For disabled people, a curbless shower with grab bars and a seat is a lot more straightforward than this.
This winter’s storms have broken my spirit and I’m finagling a snowblower. (And then of course I won’t need one for 5 years, we won’t have snow. But at the end of the 5 years, when I am 5 years older than now, we’ll get a big dump of snow and have it ready.)
Monday’s storm took me 8 hours of shoveling to clean up, by the way. I had it done by Tuesday evening: 2 hours before work and 2 hours after work both days.
It sucked as much as you’d think.

Yeah, it takes mental bandwidth to crunch numbers and make comparisons and then layer on the specifics of your own situation for optimal decision-making. Sometimes that bandwidth is used up juggling utilities with paycheck timing to avoid a shutoff. Being broke is a giant tax on executive function.
The toilet paper conundrum. A single roll from the corner shop is much more expensive than the cost/roll in a 4 pack. In turn, the cost/roll of a 12 pack beats a 4 pack, but you buy 12 rolls at once + need storage. Costco is cheapest/roll, but you need a membership + ability to pay for + store 24.

I would have died of pneumonia at 30 without antibiotics, even with them, I was very sick. Even if I’d gotten to 30, I would have been deaf (I did go deaf briefly before ear tubes at 3) and nearly blind without vision correction (from the age of about 11.)
