Why Trump's bullying backfired in Indiana β and will again | Opinion
Trump never really cared about the GOP. It's always been about himself. Indiana senators knew that.
Here's why President Donald J. Trump's push for redistricting failed in Indiana - and will again.
His failure will impact his legacy. He never really cared about the GOP. It's always been about himself and this made it obvious.

Unelected officials often fail to understand measures like GDP canβt describe the experience of typical families.
Thatβs why some in Indianapolis could vote to allow a massively unpopular data center to drain city resources and give almost nothing in return.

Indiana Republicans killed their own diversity program β even though it worked | Opinion
Republicans trained underrepresented political outsiders to win elections. Then they killed the program as part of their anti-DEI crusade.
Once, Indiana Republicans selectively embraced diversity programs that worked and helped them win elections.
Integrating underrepresented outsiders into the party, though, can sometimes feel like a threat to established politicians.

Redrawing congressional district maps will always be tainted by partisanship.
But Indiana Republicans should at least pretend the process is legitimate and call for a special census before attempting mid-cycle redistricting.

Indiana should cap out-of-state student enrollment to solve brain drain | Opinion
We need an Indiana-first approach to higher education.
Bachelors degree recipients contribute around $700,443 more than high school graduates back to the economy through higher taxes and spending.
Capping out-of-state enrollment is the only realistic way for us to retain students and reverse Indianaβs brain drain.

Ending government subsidies to public media was a good move, and will restore competition/ innovation to the industry.
Now, the government ought to incentivize public engagement.

Indiana school vouchers favor wealthy families over educational freedom | Opinion
Elon Musk's 14 kids would get Indiana vouchers. Homeschool families get a $1,000 deduction. This system is backwards.
If Elon Musk and his 14 children moved to Indiana in 2027, he could send them to private school using taxpayer funds.
Meanwhile, homeschoolers get a meager $1000 tax deduction, which is often not even enough to cover curriculum costs.

Did you know that Big Tech will probably raise your energy bill?
Al is a national security issue, and date centers are coming to your state to support it.
The question is, why should regular consumers in Indiana be footing the bill?

Data centers are inevitable national security assets, but monopoly utilities shouldn't force Indiana consumers to bear the cost of meeting their energy demand.
I came up with an $8 billion dollar price tag for doing so, but knowing Indiana, it will likely run double that.

IU program cuts, anti-woke policies harm conservatives on campus | Opinion
It would be a better investment for the state to support conservative faculty, programs and research instead of trying to attack wokeness on campus.
Conservatives have a problem with viewing higher education as an enemy to be limited rather than a tool to be wielded for good. As a result, their anti-woke policies on campus have backfired and harmed the few conservatives on campus.

Defunding Planned Parenthood won't stop virtual abortions in Indiana | Opinion
If pro-life activists want to end abortion, they should turn their attention where most abortions are happening β pills prescribed via telehealth.
Pro-lifers are celebrating the "Big Beautiful Bill" including a meager one-year divestment from Planned Parenthood, celebrating its financial woes. However, the internet will ensure abortions stay on the rise, unless the Comstock Act is enforced.

Indiana should close marijuana loophole putting drugs in hands of 38,000 kids | Opinion
Nearly 38,000 Indiana students have tried psychoactive Delta THC products β a direct result of a loophole in state marijuana law.
A loophole in Indiana law has put products that are essentially marijuana in the hands of nearly 38,000 middle and high schoolers. In my latest column, I argue that the loophole should be closed altogether and Delta THC products banned. Read it below.

Why won't Republicans call on Joe Hogsett to resign? | Opinion
Even if itβs symbolic now, taking a stance for greater ethical standards for political leaders can help the public regain trust in government.
Why wonβt Indianapolis City-County Council Republicans call for Mayor Joe Hogsett to resign following sexual harassment allegations that have rocked his office?
Several I spoke to claimed they wanted to focus on what they can control and avoid getting political.

Solar belongs on rooftops, not Indiana farmland | Opinion
Commercial solar wastes prime farmland and taxpayer subsidies. Indiana should focus solar incentives on making homes self-sufficient.
Commercial-scale solar farms waste land and taxpayer money. If the government is going to invest in solar somewhere, it should be on rooftops, not Indiana farmland. Read my latest column below.
