Famous (or to some infamous) Oval groundsman Austin "Bosser" Martin prepared pitches perfect for batting - one ambition he had was to see a side score 1000 and he was reported deeply upset when England declared at 903 for 7 in 1938

"Squeeze the rich until they trickle down" is what was written on a placard I saw at an anti-austerity march.

Poor leafleting and knocking-on-doors ratios. What a splendid resignation email.
Yes, it's complicated. I wonder what notice the UK was given of the attack against Iran and whether it pushed back and tried to prevent the action?
What's defence and what's attack? Seems to me that the UK is a participant in an illegal war. I think assent for our involvement should have sought and obtained from Parliament.
Very decent beer.
They used to do something called Scarlet Macaw in bottle and it was beautifully bitter.
You know that Cook resigned from Blair's government because, unlike his colleagues, he didn't support war against Iraq?
The U.S. Senate must be clear: no war with Iran.
Also: apparently I have to sign in to watch the video. Why don't you make the video publicly available?
But: first things first? What are your policies? What exactly do you stand for? Where do you stand, for example, on Low Traffic Neighbourhoods? (Asking as a previous Green voter and someone who has delivered Green literature locally for three elections.)
Who is that directed at and why?
I wondered who was in charge of Labour's campaign?
"Between 1964 and 1973, first Johnson then Nixon conducted the largest bombing campaign in history in South-East Asia. In Laos, a country of fewer than three million people, the US dropped more than two million tons of ordnance."

βThere is an undeniable symmetry between surges in drug use in the US and the countryβs covert operations overseas. The wars in Indochina gave the US heroin epidemics; Latin America, a plague of powder and crack cocaine.β

I don't know what to make of this. There are aspects I like about it and something I don't.
Just wanted to emphasise: I think this is worth watching. At times I thought: can what is said really be true? And then I thought: what if it is; why wouldn't it be? And I also think some people are way too wealthy and have far too much power and influence.

As a long-time Streatham resident I'm sceptical of the merits of this. The cycleway is the major part of the works, costing in total, it is said, Β£20-25m, but it won't connect with other cycle routes and cyclists can already use adjacent LTN roads. Journey times including for buses will be slowed.
Thanks @reallifelore.bsky.social for this informative & insightful production, particularly following recent events.
