I remember 2003.

My English teacher had us all make personal book binders for our journals. Mine was covered in anti war decals criticizing Bush.

I got called in to the office and lectured by my principal about how Sadam was a terrorist and told I was a terrorist sympathizer and got detention.

In Bell, CA an entire community stood up against ICE, including the local police and the fire dept. The fire truck appears to not allow ICE vehicles to move forward nor remain and pushes forward to escort them out. A police car also helped with escorting. /

Millions of us have been against this since (at least) 2002... and that is why we had to be politically marginalized.

Under capitalism, within the logic of the superrich, there's no profit in justice or peace. Or in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Thin veneer of a silver lining: logging into Bluesky and seeing everyone on the feed agreeing this is a horrible apocalyptic sequel to all that we endured during the War on Terror era.

At least it's not just me being retraumatized today.

This is your city. Vote like it.

Andry Josรฉ Hernรกndez Romero, I remember you, even if I do not know how to articulate my horror, rage, & sorrow at your treatment by my government.

No one has heard from you in 97 days.

As vigil, Iโ€™m posting a photo (or video) of you every day until you are returned from El Salvador.

Zohran Mamdani, who recently cross-endorsed with Lander, called for the comptrollerโ€™s immediate release. โ€œThis is fascism and all New Yorkers must speak in one voice,โ€ said Mamdani.

ICE is conducting mass deportations whether people resist quietly or resist loud. Not sure what good optics do for the people torn from their families and communities.

ICE is gearing up to deploy to these blue cities:

Chicago, NYC, the DC area, Seattle, and Philly.

If any of these are your hometownsโ€”get ready.
If notโ€”watch anyway, all the way through, because Trumpโ€™s unhinged order will affect you. Spread the word.

This is terrifying in America. ICE agents are showing up maskedโ€”these abductions must stop. If youโ€™re going to detain someone, show your face, present a warrant, and proper ID. Disappearing people from their families without evidence or accountability isnโ€™t law enforcementโ€”itโ€™s state-sponsored fear.

Yes.
And Eisgruber is a political scientist and lawyer, who clerked for a judge and worked on federal judicial appointments and constitutional law.

If more university presidents had this background weโ€™d be much stronger now. Because theyโ€™d understand the crisis more clearly.

WASHINGTON โ€” Today, the Departments of Education (ED), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), announced a comprehensive review of federal contracts and grants at Harvard University and its affiliates. This review is part of the ongoing efforts of the Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism.
The Task Force will review the more than $255.6 million in contracts between Harvard University, its affiliates and the Federal Government. The review also includes the more than $8.7 billion in multi-year grant commitments to Harvard University and its affiliates to ensure the university is in compliance with federal regulations, including its civil rights responsibilities.
โ€œHarvard has served as a symbol of the American Dream for generations โ€“ the pinnacle aspiration for students all over the world to work hard and earn admission to the storied institution,โ€ said Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. โ€œHarvardโ€™s failure to protect students on campus from anti-Semitic discrimination - all while promoting divisive ideologies over free inquiry - has put its reputation in serious jeopardy. Harvard can right these wrongs and restore itself to a campus dedicated to academic excellence and truth-seeking, where all students feel safe on its campus.โ€
Todayโ€™s actions by the Task Force follow a similar ongoing review of Columbia University. That review led to Columbia agreeing to comply with 9 preconditions, links to an external website for further negotiations regarding a return of canceled federal funds. This initiative strengthens enforcement of President Trumpโ€™s Executive Order titled โ€œAdditional Measures to Combat Anti-Semitism, links to an external website. The Task Force ensures that federally funded institutions uphold their legal and ethical responsibilities to prevent anti-Semitic harassment.

Linda WWF McMahon suddenly interested in freedom at Harvard

Trump and Musk now come for Harvard.

After Columbia did the cut and run, this was inevitable. The only answer for universities is to join together and say no.

Also, look at these lies. Anti-semitism is a pretext used because it draws some support from Democrats. This is an ATTACK on freedom.
