North Carolina is a purple state. In the 2024 election, NC elected a democratic governor, lt. governor, attorney general, and superintendent of public instruction. Asheville and Boone, both hit hard by the hurricane, are solidly blue.
So very sad. My dad had Alzheimer's, and my mom, his primary caretaker, died from a heart attack while my sister had stopped by (early COVID social distancing) to drop off groceries. I'll be forever be thankful that she was there because my dad was past the point of using or answering the phone.

Honestly, if the luggage is missing for my entire trip, I consider that lost even if I get it back eventually. Which has happened to me 3 times in the last two years (flying about 8 trips a year) despite priority status and the extra priority tag on my bag.
