as a jrpg fan, my primary interests in video games are raising and lowering sewer gates, such as to manipulate the water level

I’ve seen this type of design trending with games and developers for sure obviously

But I am starting to see more consumers ask for it and/or push back on games that don’t follow the current trend

I am less worried about numbers-go-upification when it comes to game design and more worried about how much enthusiast gamers seem to want it in everything

This upcoming season is my trial of becoming a Vikings fan. We will see if I can actually follow a football season the whole way through... cause yeah adding another sport is a lot.

Lowkey one of the best things about Pokemon... they relative to the genre have short campaigns. You can kill a retro Pokemon game in 25 hours. Which in JRPG terms is BRISK.

I really dug the first episode of JJK. Episode 2 & 3 been slogs. Imma push through to see more.

I really need to do the Holy Ark. THese dungeons are immaculate but when I look at JRPGs as a whole recently... none of them are designed in the way Golden Sun is and people don't look for those characteristics.

Statements like this don't really wrestle with why Golden Sun is special and why it's greatest asset is something that most modern gamers would not engage with meaningfully : elite dungeons puzzles.

Colors look too muted... so I hope it isn't the next Tales.
