If the roles were reversed I would not want our athletes sent to a country as corrupt, violent and lawless as ours. I would not trust that their privacy wouldn’t be violated, that they wouldn’t be detained, or honestly at this point I wouldn’t be killed.

Exactly she’s not turning her back on authoritarian rule, on the oppression of others, and she sure as heck isn’t seeing the light or a champion of democracy. She’s seeing how this current administration is hurting her and her own. She’s seeing how she is not valued within the party she backed.
