Gen Z males twice as likely as baby boomers to believe wives should obey husbands Global survey shows young men and boys hold more traditional views about gender roles than older generations

It's easy to think of Boomer men as the guardians of "tradition." Yet surveys show GenZ men have more "traditional" ideas about gender roles. 59% of GenZ men, for ex, say men are expected to do too much to support gender equality, compared to 45% of Boomer men.

Unanticipated perk of European sabbatical is the Olympics is perfectly timed for post-work relaxing.

Annnd many (many) hours of Olympic figure skating = time to learn a new knitting stitch! Thrilled with both the quality of the ladies free skate tonight, and this reversible brioche neckwarmer!

On the front lines of eviction prevention - The Philanthropist Journal β€œA little goes a long way” in keeping people housed, advocates say, and the social costs of not addressing the housing crisis are immeasurable.

β€œA recent Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation study concluded that every $1 invested in eviction prevention and housing stability saves $2 to $6 in emergency system costs. In other words, it’s far cheaper to ensure people remain housed.” @thephilanthropist.ca

On this day that supports inclusive futures for women and girls in science, let's not forget all the women that were sidelined, ignored, or forced out of science because they:
- had children
- prioritised family/caring
- did science differently
- questioned boundaries & norms
- fought the patriarchy

The new mayor of Montreal is moving forward with her β€œaudit” of bike lanes. Possible outcomes still unclear.

Continually framed as for β€œsafety”. But if serious, why not focus on roads without bike lanes?

Complaints about bike lanes are mainly not about safety. They’re about loss of space for cars.

A little studio progress this evening. Gonna have to gift a lot of mugs, since ceramics are not a priority suitcase item! (Except for the others people’s ceramics I’ve accumulated 😬)

Biologist here. The 'reality of biological sex' is that in humans & many species do not have a binary expression of sex-linked traits. Some (fungi!) more than others, but even humans are complex in genotypic & phenotypic origins & expression.
