You seem to think I'm holding onto something when I'm not. I understand why it was done. I don't hate how they did it. It made sense. I just have no interest in it and feel its more than a "detour" like you believe. Sorry that seems to offend you so much.
I acknowledged why they are there. I simply said they didn't have to be in that position, but that's what AEW chose to do. You think it has little to do with the story. I disagree because it's taking up weeks of TV.

How do you know it’s a brief detour though? That’s my point. You’re dismissing it as it’s not actually part of the story. But it is.
If people complained DR didn’t main event FFTF that’s on them. I would’ve been fine with Rated FTR against HOB if they set that up.
That’s set up Rated FTR vs. DR. I never said they were wrong for that. I said it doesn’t interest me and it’s not elevating young talent like you said.

The feud is continuing. It was the closing angle for Collision. They didn't have to do Cope/FTR against DR for Fight for the Fallen. They could've done the Learning Tree match or House of Black. This is what they chose to do.
If the Death Rider stuff was hitting better and was more interesting, I'd be fine if Omega came back and just killed it with great matches and they followed up with The Elite stuff.
This is more an indictment on the lackluster DR story.
Of course they'll move on. Everything moves on. But they are main eventing right now and closed their last PPV running off the Death Riders. That's literally what is happening. Sorry that I'm not ignoring it.
He only delayed it due to injury. Maybe the point is to have the champion climb Mount Everest. Cool publicity. Not interesting weekly TV.
Only White's case is strong to me. OC has always been featured, and I liked him getting a title shot in the spot he did. He lost. Hangman lost to White twice. FTR/Cope are still the story now, detour or not. This is where we're at. And again, none of these guys are young and hurting for TV time.
I agree. Everest can't be ignored though. You're looking at a three month (if he wins it next week) or less reign or waiting until potentially All In.
Yes, early on. Mox has been feuding with OC, Hangman, White, and now FTR and Cope. Those are not young guys who have been out of the spotlight. Garcia and Party won other titles and moved on long ago.
Darby when? He climbs Everest in April.
The Darby stuff is tricky because of Everest. He makes the most sense as the endgame. But he's leaving in April. So putting the title on him at Revolution for maybe a month is wasteful. Moxley holding the title until All In is eh.
The storyline hasn't been about elevating younger guys since like week two. It's now about the soul of AEW.
Who do you think beats Moxley?
This ultimately depends on the endgame for the World Title. Because if the endgame is Darby wins and immediately loses to Christian, yes, I would prefer Omega (who makes sense story wise with Moxley) to win the title.
