This was a lovely film.

Wonder if Ellis Brigham would sponsor me to make 'Thrutch - one climber's struggles on low-grade gritstone'
Also no, winning all the way
This year: no
And now to answer the annual question: is there a dead mouse in my grass seed?
I'd certainly like to see that
1/ A child in a lab coat holding a stick with a sweet on it. Text reads: ‘Spark curiosity this British Science Week’. Download free teaching resources at e-bug.eu’
2/ A close-up of hands glowing green against a dark blue background. Text reads: ‘what if every surface showed glowing fingerprints? Download free teaching resources at e-bug.eu’
3/ A close-up of a blue and white capsule with nothing inside it. Text reads: ‘what if antibiotics stopped working? Download free teaching resources at e-bug.eu’
4/ A blue background with white text reading ‘at e-bug.eu every week is science week’
Science is everywhere: in our bodies, our food, our classrooms.
This #BritishScienceWeek, meet e-Bug: UKHSA's free health education programme, which helps teachers bring infection science to life from early years to KS3.

Definitely makes sense. Greatly amplified after about 3 pints
I thought this was very interesting.
Particularly this:
"I expect we could say we are all masking, all the time, trying to adapt to our society’s norms."
of interest, I think that the close correlation of all the domains means that any such attempts to disentangle them will be futile.
I think, if you accept that a causal question cannot be answered by such data, you might want to pause and ask yourself, what do I want to achieve with this analysis?
Personally, though I can understand the desire to understand what particular element in deprivation might be leading to the outcome
I rounded up a few Claude Skills for #RStats users.
Huge thanks to the creators who developed them. They share Skills for everything from tidyverse code to brand.yml files to learning while using AI.
Hope the list is useful, and please let me know what I missed! 🧡

Please circulate! Are you or do you know someone from groups particularly affected by Mpox, & those less likely to be heard by researchers? We are working with @thelovetankcic.bsky.social to organise workshops seeking to improve modelling response.

I was recommending There Is No Antimememetics Division just the other day.
Yep, learning how to make emergency shelters in snow.
Found a good spot for lunch today
Monochrome photograph featuring two women climbing on a rock face with ropes both wearing long dresses and hats
Rock climbers Lucy Smith and Pauline Rankin of the Ladies’ Scottish Climbing Club, 1908, Salisbury Crags, Scotland #WomensArt
Welcome to #WomensHistoryMonth
A single person walking in a snow field. Heavy clouds above the horizon.
Well, while the world has been losing its mind, I've been doing this.
Wish everyone could have the same peace and camaraderie that one finds in the top of a mountain.
Thought I'd have lunch outside today
There Is No Antiemetics Division is an excellent read if you like science fiction.
Has a hint of the best Dr Who episodes, but is even better than that.

Using a robot to do deadlifts seems self defeating.
In most cases I agree, but here I'd definitely want to check with and without.
If one were to re-roll the dice of the universe, how likely do we feel it is that that observation would happen at such an extreme again?
That regression line on those points? What do we think?
What would happen to the regression line if the far right data point was removed?
