When you support indie presses, you keep art and writing made by people alive. You make it possible for voices to exist outside the mainstream. You support real people who are going to work everyday and creating when they can (usually by sleeping less).

The last photo I'll post of myself from AWP. I can be sad that the guy in background is bored or I can remember that I didn't know this was gonna be a family restaurant and a very smart little girl walked by with her fingers in her ears as I compared sex to mac n cheese.
AWP was amazing, but then my flight kept getting delayed, then delayed again, then again, etc., etc., until finally being canceled until tomorrow, and now I’m waiting in a hotel lobby waiting for a room… and the only think that’ll make me feel better is if you buy my book or tell me how great it is.
Tacoma really is really good and hearing you read it was the best. You read one of my favorites at 804 and I thought I was afraid I was going to die of laughter in person.
