It was difficult for me to get into the holiday spirit this year because of work. When I finally got a chance to relax, Christmas was over. Now I’m staring New Year’s in the face, and I feel more alone than ever.
My guess is a mentioning of the recent WH classification that fentanyl is a weapon of mass destruction and the apprehension of four people tied to a plot on NYE calling themselves the Turtle Island Liberation Front.

I miss streaming. I miss acting. I miss singing. I miss D&D and board games with friends. I miss playing Magic.
But really, I miss a time when I wasn’t consumed by work. And if I’m not working, I’m recovering from it.
I feel like life is passing me by.
In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter, because I’m just another overweight middle aged white guy on the internet. But in the interest of therapy, I’m voicing how I feel, for the simple purpose of speaking it and moving on.
I had a year’s worth of work destroyed in the span of a week, my proactive actions caused two teams to slip their deliverables, I might lose my holiday vacation, and I may never build a gaming PC again (something I’ve been doing for 30 years) because of the AI bubble. This week sucked for me.
Oh my god you put it in words. That’s spot on. It felt formulaic while being soulless. Indie games with worse graphics have better gameplay and replayability.
