I'm running a giveaway for a copy of FAIRYLORE by Drs. Sara Cleto and Brittany Warman of The Carterhaugh School! Details in my video after my very stupid retelling of Tam Lin:
Do you think the Bond films rang up any other children's authors to be screenwriters after Roald Dahl. Richard Scarry considering the offer while drawing a bug driving a peanut

I love how you dig into this! I'm a huge fan of The Scarlet Pimpernel (which, if you don't know, is considered a precursor to Batman type stories), and have long stewed on a version that explores the rich vigilante type in a nuanced way, as on its surface it's not a very palatable story these days.
NBC News poll Voters hold negative views of Al. In fact, the only topics less popular in the survey were the Democratic Party and Iran.
Truly a perfect news alert
I am sad that the next Shang-Chi movie won't be "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Brothers" (a natural sequel to the Legend of the Ten Rings), in which Shang-Chi teams up with ten superpowered brothers to overthrow a power-hungry despot, a la the old folktale Ten (or 5, or 7) Chinese Brothers.
This production is a DELIGHT!
Not saying anything revolutionary here, or maybe I am, but if you're in a position of being able to determine whether or not people work in the office or remote, during this obscene and unnecessary cost of living crisis, right now would be a time to cut in-office requirements. Gas is too much.
Jesus.
For what is a car but a receptacle for empty Dunkin Donuts bags?

Something you could do here is ALSO reach out to your state-level representatives if you live in one of the 13 states with a Freedom to Read Bill. Tell them what HR 7661 would mean for constituents in their state and the bill and tell them to pressure their federal colleagues to veto this bill.
Let me be crystal clear on something: were this law to be passed, every one of the 13 states with Freedom to Read laws would cease to have those laws to protect them anymore.
We have poured so much energy into those state lawsβwhich matter, hear meβbut they are not going to solve the big issue.

Update: my mother has informed me that English Mike is dead. π
My first crush was not a celebrity or a cartoon character, it was my parents' friend who was bald with a handlebar moustache who we called "English Mike." When I was four, I told my parents I was gonna marry him. I have no idea where he is now, so I'm marrying "American Dan."
STOP PRESSURING ME, MOM....uh... i mean...
