Great event in wilmslow today for half marathon. So well organised with amazing volunteers. Not the time I wanted but still so appreciative I can take on these challenges & enjoy them. A bit more patience & careful injury management is needed on my part.

Pete Buttigieg breaks down DEI for everyday folksβ¦
βThe opposite of diversity is uniformity. The opposite of equity is inequity. The opposite of inclusion is exclusion.β @petebuttigieg.bsky.social
Our problem: too many value uniformity over inclusion and theyβre the ones running the government.

Andrew Ramwell and Bernard Clarke from Know and Do Ltd
On this day 15 years ago these two younger looking fellas formed Know and Do Limited. We struck out on our own to try our hand at management consulting. I've loved the people we've met on the way, the variety of businesses and enterprises. My big thanks to Andrew Ramwell for the partnership!

Meanwhile, the appalling realities of Russian aggression in Ukraine continue. Local officials in Ukraine say at least one person was killed in the Black Sea port of Odesa and five others wounded in the eastern city of Kharkiv after Russia launched a wave of drones overnight.

Yes the Peak District is so unpredictable. I've only been on this Tor once before, in freezing temp, thick fog & heavy rain in August! Always worth the effort. Hope your next visit is better.

View of the Peak District from Shining Tor
Enjoyed a winter sun run around Goyt Valley & Shining Tor this am. Such a treat to have the Peak District so close. It was perfect weather for muddy trail run. A surprise to meet running mates out too. My knee held up on the hills & miles today so hopeful of longer runs in the spring

Patriotism is, fundamentally, a conviction that a particular country is the best in the world because you were born in it...
George Bernard Shaw.
When you put it like that, you see how nonsensical it is.

A fact is information without emotion.
An opinion is information shaped by experience.
Ignorance is an opinion without knowledge.
And stupidity is an opinion that rejects facts.
Much of what we think & believe isn't fact-based. We have 1st impressions, gut or funny feelings, fears, & sympathies. We've become a bit lazy about finding out facts, & it's getting increasingly harder. But it still remains our main, most important job.
#GoodMorning, everyone.

Inside Luds Church caves, Peak District
Fab to have the Peak District so close to me. The new year has allowed me some running around Hen Cloud, Roaches, Luds church, Gun Moor and Tittesworth Reservoir. Thursday was so sunny and clear. Today misty and more ice. To be able to explore the trails and hills is a real treat.
