ICE agents across the country are acting with cruelty and impunity, illegally detaining citizens and terrorizing communities. @mihousedems.bsky.social introduced legislation to protect Michiganders freedoms from tyranny. We have the responsibility to act when our government oppresses our citizens.
Today, we remember Dr. King’s legacy to fight injustice and inaction. His courage, leadership and dedication remain examples of how we can work towards an equitable society and continue the fight against injustice.

It’s a New Year, and as many Michiganders now, it’s just the beginning of a very cold, long winter. Now more than ever, we must pass legislation that is essential to protecting our companion animals and give law enforcement the proper tools to save vulnerable pets.
I had the opportunity to join Mayor-Elect Mary Sheffield for a reception in Lansing. Mary has been a dedicated public servant as a member of the Detroit City Council and made history being elected Detroit’s first female mayor. I can’t wait to see everything she will accomplish in the years to come!
I sadly said goodbye to my intern, Dylan Shiflet after 11 months as part of my team. Dylan has constantly gone above and beyond for the people of the 75th District. I know he will go on to accomplish amazing things throughout his career, and I can’t wait to see what he does in the future!

Yesterday, the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled that Speaker Hall must present the nine bills that were passed last term to the Governor. I am grateful to the Court for ruling once again that House Leadership must abide by our Constitution and present these bills to Governor Whitmer.
