Years ago I was playing through a massive collection of old games of wildly varying quality from a CD called Over 1000 Games for Windows.
Just last week one of the developers of said games emailed me and it prompted me to write a blog post about that experience.

I really loved Judero and now the same devs are crowdfunding their next game. If this is going to be like being inside a Dario Argento movie, I'm in.
I was on my best behaviour... but like a reflex my body let out a loud dismissive horse sound when that terrible Aliens reference happened. We get it. The hot grandma from that movie is also in this movie (when she probably shouldn't be).
Watched Avatar. Half way through I realised that Jimmy's pulled a fast one on us and he's actually just made the second movie again. Looks cool though, once you get past the sensation that you're watching a game cutscene.
Honestly mate fair play, I'd do the same if I had loads of money.

2025 was the year I learned how to properly tie shoelaces (at age 30). What ability will I unlock in 2026? Finally find a way to memorise how many days are in each month? Be able to wash the dishes without getting my shirt wet? Find a hat that really suits me?
I picked up Astro Bot recently and I'm close to 100 percenting it, which I almost never do. It's just so great. I know it won goty last year but I think it should also win again this year.
I've been doing some concepts for future areas of the game! This is a special location I'm calling Sewer Henge, for obvious reasons. Rubber boots recommended.

Chimbo and Hogmeat are friends
I can't play any new games from the NextFest when I'm still catching up with my backlog of every game ever made chronologically. I'm up to this little underground game called FFIX for PS1.
How come no one told me this was so dang charming?
Every time there's a new Godot release I think that's cool, but I don't need to upgrade - I've got everything I could need.
Then I look through the new features and very quickly think ooh yes I could use that.
It's a dangerous game.

I just looked for it and within 5 seconds of skimming through gameplay I heard the noise haha
haha it's iconic! And since revisiting a lot of games from 90s/00s I'm hearing that sound everywhere
Recently been working on some screen and particle effects! Does anyone recognise that swoosh sound?

Let me show you a very special prop from our game, and walk you through how it was made (please don't tell others my secret technique)

I've been doing some baking in Blender
I am currently looking for more playtesters for the next playtest round of the Engraving Demo!
If you like Horror Adventure games, check out the link below!
And if not I would really appreciate sharing this post β

What's a point & click game without cursors for pointing and clicking?
Figured these should be pre-rendered sprites to fit with the crunchy 90s aesthetic - what do you think?

Music for this boring-ass N64 game has no right to be this funky fresh.

Which for me is about once a week when I fat finger the file explorer and move a folder into another folder and have no idea where it went
I searched for "frog with gun" on Temu and discovered this cool new character. When is he coming to Fortnite??
GDQuest is great, that's what I got started with. The paid classes are well worth it.
If you want the TLDR, I had memories of playing fun games from this CD as a kid, but now I've revisited I don't know what I was on about. Out of the 748 games there is only one worth playing.
Indie's Desktop Adventures.
I've played so many 90s shareware indie games now, my mind has been truly warped and I don't know what is "good" or "bad" any more.
At some point I'll probably write something longer about this arduous and pointless journey.
#775GamesForWindows 748: "Volutare 3D" - Bela Von Hoffman
I've got an important update. The game? It's about flipping cubes, it's not good, who cares. All this time I've been saying I was reviewing 775 games, but somehow I miscalculated and there's only 748. This is how it ends.
#775GamesForWindows 747: "Stellar Explorer" - TCI Corporation
I've played so many of these 90s spaceship OS simulators now, and they're almost all the same. The difference with this one is they take away weapons in the shareware version so it's unwinnable.
#775GamesForWindows 746: "TC Space Fighter" - Anthony Carin
I'll never know what this is because opening it immediately locks up the system. Another thumbnail-sized game, I'm sure it was great.
#775GamesForWindows 745: "Sky Maze" - AxySoft
Play as a little yellow guy collecting all the little yellow bits on a level and avoid the various bad guys running aimlessly around. There are powerups that let you kill the baddies for a short time. So it's Russian 3D Pac-Man.
#775GamesForWindows 744: "Shuffle Board 3D" - Walter A. Kuhn
Never tried shuffle board in real life, but I'm not good at this at all. Is it normal rules that if your puck is in a scoring zone but has one pixel over the boundary, it's worth 0 points??
#775GamesForWindows 743: "Pong 3D" - Jesse Johnson
Yep it's pong. You could argue it's 3D. Love the MS Paint art. The computer isn't very good at its own game, but I still think it's pretty fun.
