For sure! And I totally get that a lot of the scolding comes from white people who think they're doing a good thing, but don't fully understand why and therefore overreact over little things that aren't actually offensive, while completely ignoring or being ok with something that is very much so!

I think I might need examples of what you mean with regards to what is or isn't acceptable appropriation of culture? And when the scolding is or isn't justified? We scold here because we very much have a culture of entitlement where people just think they can say and do any old thing..

Americans typically do it without respect or understanding of the cultures they appropriate, though. The difference is we tend to make it an offensive caricature instead of a celebration of culture.
