…no one can overtake you for the next 5 kilometers.

In Denmark the cars are the problem.
In Mallorca it’s the cyclists.

In general of course as there are always exceptions to the rule.

Many do but as I said on Mallorca the motorists are very aware and do in general not endanger the wellbeing of cyclists.

If large groups of cyclists simply block the way on smaller roads that might not last.

There is no need to drive 2 cyclists next to each other at a casual pace if it means that…

I was referring to Iceland and Norway.

The problem is that on smaller roads it makes it imposible to pass at all.

Keeping people behind you for several kilometres is not going to popular especially since they have to endure every day for months.

When they show us consideration, we should do the same.

Yes…but for the EU only.

Small victories…very small 😉

It will end up as a rearrangement of the entire alphabet 😉.

Those trying to simply survive are the people being bombed by the US.

Exactly. 👍

And YOU’RE welcome when Denmark joined with all the other countries when they enacted the only Article 5 in the entire history of NATO’s existence

Of course the EU shouldn’t allow a nonmember to be strong in Brussels.

I can’t see why we should be interested in a colony though.

Some neighbours are close partners, others might not wish to be. Their choice.

Why should the EU let the UK be strong in Brussels, when it is so much easier to watch the UK on its self-determined path of decline and eventually make the UK a de facto EU colony?

Why an over-inflated UK opinion of itself in Brussels matters - because Ministers think a meeting or two is sufficient when actually there has to be a continuous public and private effort to seek even a small amount of influence.

Even if oil prices get back to “normal,” the disruption should be a wake-up call to move faster on alternative energy sources. If blocking one sea lane is all it takes to send gas prices soaring, then we need to move away from fossil fuels — fast.

They are likely to try, unlikely to succeed.

The big question is if they still want to join.

Both countries can probably survive (and more than that) on the outside.

It is definitely often legal (when no signs about single file) but that doesn’t mean that we can’t be helpful.

No reason to block the locals from going to and from their own homes.

They have indeed.

On shared roads I definitely feel more safe on Mallorca than in Denmark.

The big cyclist groups visiting the island really should repay the favour. No reason to block the roads.

A few single file signs have been put up as a result of this.

…they have come a long way. 15 years ago there hardly were any even in Palma.

I find that the motorists respect cyclists more in Mallorca than they do her in Denmark.

They overtake you with a wider margin and wait if there is not enough space to give you that margin.

They still make some crazy cycle paths from time to time (they should visit us to see how it is done) but…

Nothing but excuses.

Maybe there is simply no way back for the US.

10.03.2026 09:56 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I do implore you to try to see how the US looks from the outside.

10.03.2026 09:55 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

…but that is about now. Where have the American people been for the last 70 years when the US has committed atrocities around the world?

…and even now the US is waging an illegal war in Iran where they indiscriminately kill people.

Too little far too late springs to mind.

10.03.2026 09:53 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

If it wasn’t for US soft power/propaganda and brute military force then the US would have become a pariah a long time ago.

10.03.2026 09:38 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Try just for one second to view the US from the outside.

10.03.2026 09:37 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

…started to care once their government attacked US citizens in the US. Not that these attacks are in anyway similar to what the US has been doing around the world.

10.03.2026 09:34 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

What data?

The data clearly shows that the US has continued to attack and destroy other countries for decades and the Americans never even bothered to get up from the buffet.

The rest seems to be just an excuse.

The strongest yet sadly also the most clueless nation in the world.

Americans only

In the end, it’s a philosophical matter.

A huge British majority think that winning implies that my partner loses.

A majority of EU citizens want our Union to be closer, in spite of all difficulties.

10.03.2026 07:09 👍 3 🔁 3 💬 1 📌 0

What the UK needs is a system that works for all parts of the Union, Develops all corners & offers fair representation......
We need to rid ourselves of the current system of representation......
Currency, Movement, Rights & regs, Freedom of Movement are all good..... System of control is failure
