This is the right answer
I haven't played it yet so I can't speak to it, but it's interesting to see. Do you think it's the character, or something else?

#FREELUD UPDATE:
Ludovicβs bond hearing is on Friday!
This does not change the fact that he is still expected in court for a deportation hearing in May, even if he is released.
The fight is not over, but we are hopeful that he will be free of ICE custody soon. Keep fighting!
in case you've never seen it, this is Roger Ebert on The Mummy
If Capcom doesn't want to use union workers, they shouldn't get your money. The big reason unions in video games have such an uphill battle is because companies keep doing this crap and don't see repercussions for it. Consider not buying Mega Man and tell Capcom why through the appropriate channels.

I wrote 3,500 words on Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake for @ign.com, in which I try to unpack how a remake can both be a better game than the original and diminish itself as a piece of art at the same time.
Thank you to @tomrmarks.bsky.social for putting up with me on this one.
But again, I come at this from the perspective that Crimson Butterfly is the greatest horror game ever made and its simplicity is a large part of that. YMMV.
I think it's less that and more a genuine attempt at making deeper combat that feels better without maybe thinking about where that logically takes you.
It's still scary. It's just... lesser for having that depth and catering to modern design ideas, I think.
If AI were a living thing I would beat it to death with my bare hands.
Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake is sort of all the agony and ecstasy of game remakes in one package. You get both thoughtful additions that add to its story and modernizations that overwork an elegant idea. A tricky one! My review. www.polygon.com/fatal-frame-...
Same hat! Same hat! Same hat!
trump is going to find that war suits him poorly, because his little word games and deflections and constant stream of bullshit does not satisfy anyone when there are missiles with trails that lead directly back to him
Hit them LLMs with "this is not for you" and immediately follow it up with the spiral pages.
I haven't played the remake and I donβt think I've written about 4, sorry. But this did make me want to replay the older games, so who knows! I would like to write more about Fatal Frame.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore the original Crimson Butterfly (and Fatal Frame as a whole) and trying to grapple with this feeling was difficult and gratifying as a critic. I hope it resonates with other people.
The remake is still a game worth playing. It just could have been better.

heard folks talk about RE: Requiem as a "nostalgia-fest" but I want to reframe that a necessary, healing confrontation. One last grappling with the past, smashing old icons into dust.

Me: "All I'm saying is a properly motivated Flo Rida could write a song about how Travis Kelce's dick changed his life, but Taylor Swift doesn't have the class solidarity for 'time to get paid / it's maximum wage / that body belong on a poster.'"
@hokutolucas.bsky.social, nodding sagely: "True."
The circle is complete
Maybe I'll just make one
