and if these facilities have been bought up by private equity like in the u.s., this fine is not a deterrent for them to keep residents safe, itβs simply the price tag of doing business to them. itβs sickening either way.
If you do the math, each aged person killed here is valued at $3,333.
Been struggling to get groceries for WEEKS, keep having to postpone because everything has had to go to rent or storage.

but this is better than letting mold continue to grow inside my body i guess. also if it gets in my lungs (i donβt think it will) but the prognosis is BAD if it does get into my lungs
itβs one thing to know the meds youβre on can cause malnutrition but itβs another to realize youβre experiencing malnutrition
A campaign poster with large text reading "Mayor Mamdani" and a message urging to fund NYC public libraries at 0.5% of the city budget. Two photos of a man in a suit (Zohran Mamdani are shown, with a website link for more information.
You can let the Mayor know what you think about him breaking his promise. www.nyc.gov/mayors-offic...
Yes, hello, is that God? Yeah, hi. I have a complaint. You gave me this brain thatβs designed for finding berries and avoiding lions and now people are βjust circling backβ to see if we can βmove the needleβ on βkey initiativesβ? NONE of those things are berries.
Guys I hate to say this but the war that doesnβt make sense that happened for no reason isnβt going perfectly
My hottest mental health take:
A lot of depression and anxiety is situational, and warranted, because people live in shit circumstances. Theyβre poor, without resources, etc. and the reason itβs become popular to blame βmental healthβ is because itβs a way of evading responsibility.
Also: I think therapy as a profession over-marketed itself and unwittingly promoted the hyper-internalization & hyper-individualization of many global, collective and community problems.
Here is the deal: we donβt have to keep perpetuating this imbalance & harm

Hanne Daguman is a Type 1 diabetic who was denied proper medical care in ICE custody.
She lost 10lbs in 9 days.
She experienced severe infections.
She was denied her continuous glucose monitor.
She was given too much insulin & another detainee gave her crackers and saved her life:
I am trading six dollars for two high dose energy drinks at the gas station today
It will be the only good trade today
there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for
Disability accommodations are a rare thing that actually trickles down. You like curb cutouts? Auto-opening doors? Jar openers? Ramps? Hand rails? YOUβRE WELCOME
Even as an abled person you use disability accommodations every single day.
Supporting accommodations actually helps everyone.

"...remaining neutral when confronted with misinformation is detrimental. In the case of health misinformation, neutrality is not diplomacy; it's acquiescence. A direct line can be drawn between neutrality and even tolerance of misinformation and the current state of public health."

This has nothing to do with the specific content here, but Polymarket adopting the language of news, here with BREAKING, and with Texas election results earlier this week, is BAD. Polymarket is not and will never be a news org or break news. It's a betting app. It's Draft Kings for sociopaths.
Lane has made a very cool looking tarot deck. I donβt believe tarot has any supernatural value but I love the way it can get you thinking about your life. Maybe try this one out?

I'm unsure how people really think people were downplaying a virus that can kill you, make you go blind, wipe out your immune system for years, and oh yeah come back and kill you a decade after you thought you'd shaken it.
Around 49% of COVID infections are asymptomatic and carry no symptoms but did you know, that albeit less likely, you can still get long covid or a blood clot, days, weeks, months or even a year after this seemingly harmless infection. Most who have long covid had only seemingly βmildβ symptoms π§΅
