Roman history | Greece & Rome | Cambridge Core Roman history - Volume 73 Issue 1

A very kind review of my book in Greece and Rome, making some of the connections between Roman autocracy and contemporary society that I hadn’t been *quite* willing to say out loud in print…

My article on a vase with a kalos-inscription for Hephaistos has just been published, open access! In the article, I present a vase that's been largely ignored, but which gives us a new way to think about Hephaistos and his importance in 5th century BCE Athens.

These are β€œlow enrollment” majors but the classes are regularly at capacity. They changed the funding structure a few years ago here, switching the allocation from course enrollments to majors then blamed these departments for a structural, top-down change. This is entirely a political choice.

UI African American, Gender Studies faculty prepare for program closures University of Iowa faculty in African American Studies and Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies are preparing for closure of their programs following a review of "low-enrollment" degrees and majors ...

The closing of African American Studies and GWSS at Iowa is absolutely heartbreaking. It is such an important time to study these subjects. Words really cannot express how upsetting this decision is. www.thegazette.com/higher-educa...

Please read this article to the end. Even before ICE got involved, this started because this *blind man who speaks no English and uses a curtain rod as a walking stick* got lost on a walk and some Karen called the police on him and they tasered and beat him bc he didn’t drop the rod. WTF

This is a great idea. We aren't allowed to have any single assignment worth more than 30% of the final grade, but I think there's a way to incorporate some version of this even here. Thanks for sharing!
