Yup. Complacency and refusal to accept things will put people at a huge disadvantage. When they finally wake up, it will be too late. Not sure if you read this essay yet, but it talks about some of this, I found it really good:

Given this administration, I think it's more likely he takes a page from his buddy Putins book and stages an attack on American soil as a pretext for seizing unlimited, unending power.
