secret passageways, and desperate hand-holding between rivals (as enemies, for business reasons)).
Thanks to everyone who's already read this far, and loved this pair of horrible trans disaster wizards as much as I do. I can't wait for you to see how Rat and Harker's story ends, and while I can't say a lot, I can promise that there are still a few more twists ahead (and, even more magic,

Text that reads: A nonbinary wayfinder searching for a monster's heart. A former rival trapped out of their reach. A cruel debt that must be paid. Rat Evans knows it was a mistake to accept a deal with Isola, the shadowy raven knight whoโs haunted their steps ever since they first found their way to the tower. Once, Rat had promised theyโd never serve her. Now, theyโve sworn to find her heart and return to her. Theyโd needed to to make sure that their friends were safeโthat Harker was safe, even though Rat still isnโt sure if heโs a friend, a rival, or something more complicated. They just hadnโt expected Isola to bring him back to the tower as a hostage, where heโs been a prisoner for almost two months. (Cont. in next image)
Now, Rat needs to search Bellamy Arts for answers on how to get Isolaโs heart out of the Ingrid Collectionโone of the few places thatโs remained locked to them, in spite of their ability to open doors and find hidden passageways. But even with the help of Jinx, Agatha, and Will, Rat might have found a puzzle they canโt solve, and Evening and his new apprentice are fast on their heels. The more Rat tries to unravel the secrets around the Ingrid Collection, the more they realize how intertwined they may be in all of thisโand that their role in Isolaโs game might be an even more dangerous one than theyโd imagined. Will Rat find a way to escape their deal and save the ruthless boy they werenโt supposed to fall for? And what will they have to risk to raze Isola to the ground for good?

A quote graphic that reads, "Out of all the enemies Rat had managed to make, they still thought of Harker Blakely as the worst. He was ruthless and clever and ran on an ungodly combination of black coffee and ambition. They were also pathetically in love with him."

Hey! Thanks a ton for checking! I'll DM you!
...and, of course, this is by no means a definitive list! I'm always excited to be surprised by new submissions and see stories I hadn't expected, so if you think we might be a good fit and you're querying an adult or YA horror or thriller, please feel free to reach out!
anything with a strange, unsolved crime at it's center, or a cold case that's become shrouded in speculation and lore; casts that are bound together by old secrets (and lies, and resentments); old groups of friends drawn back together by a mystery
see above for Rich People Being Horrible, but anything with an element of class critique, or that has a glossy and well-mannered surface (and claws underneath); stories that are intricately plotted and full of twists; imposters and identity games; dwindling casts and closed-circle mysteries;
or anything that can keep me guessing.
Also: Thrillers with a strong sense of place or an atmospheric setting; diverse thrillers, and especially queer and disabled domestic thrillers; thrillers set in cut-throat professional or creative fields; morally grey MCs;
Thrillers:
I'm on the lookout for pacy, commercial thrillers, and psychological thrillers and domestic suspense especially. As above, I'm always excited to see a new take on an old setup, or genre-savvy writing that can twist the story in a new and unexpected direction, and love a mystery
nerdy and horrifying deep dives that will absolutely ruin an obscure or seemingly mundane topic I hadn't known I should be afraid of; anything that has me rooting for the cast to survive (even if we know they can't); "I'm not trapped with the killer, the killer is trapped with me" energy
upsetting architecture (haunted house? cursed hotel? abandoned castle? yes to all); anything that feels like a creepypasta--viral rituals, lost/cursed media, horror lore that sounds like it crawled out of an internet forum in the early 2000s; anything that captures the feel of found footage;
Also always looking for new spins on classic horror premises; anything with buckets of atmosphere or edge-of-your-seat tension; body horror (and especially body horror from queer, disabled, and BIPOC voices); rich people being horrible; horror that's glittery, opulent, and rotten underneath;
Horror:
I'm always eager to find queer horror (of both the "critically engages with horror as a lens for queer experiences" variety and the "just came here to make a splattery gay mess" kind. If it's queer, unhinged, and going to keep me awake at night, I'd love to see it in my inbox)
Hey #amquerying! Iโm reopening to queries for adult and YA horror and thrillers!
If youโre querying in these genres and think we might be a fit, Iโd love to hear from youโyou can reach me at leesubmissions@lookingglasslit.com with your query letter and first 10 pages!
