It looks like the deterioration was deliberate, windows left open on the upper stories for years, etc.
It's a shame.

Coin used as Leeds bus fare was 2,000‑year‑old currency The coin was handed down to Peter Edwards from his grandfather in the 1950s.

This is the sort of thing a cashless society robs us of, the opportunity to try to get away with paying the bus fare in Carthaginian currency www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

My son still uses my place as a mailing address and is in a trade union. I could wallpaper the vestibule almost daily.

I get enough of my own as a geezer.

Much depends on weight, but #2 looks right.
I have a few properly weighted forks and will wash dishes to use my favorite. My code insists I do all dishes rather than just wash favorite fork.

And there's one in Forest Park at the Mohr Community Center, one block north of the Desplaines Station at the end of the Blue Line.

Yes I have been waiting on a call back from social security to set up an appointment. I was lost in the shuffle a few weeks ago and am starting the process again.

When they knocked all those buildings down I wondered where the calf monstrosity wound up. It was unwieldy and weird, probably moth eaten but one of a kind.

That year teenage me worked across the street at the original Sears on State Street. There were pawn shops on that stretch of craziness full of lots of weird stuff. One had a taxidermied two headed calf in the window.

In honor of the 2026 baseball season I recommend reading or listening to Jane Leavy's The Last Boy.

Trump famously never used email.
His father preached endlessly about putting nothing in writing.
They were fined for housing discrimination for putting C's for "colored" on top of apllications.
That never happened again.

Everything he has ever done has involved pushing boundaries of legality.

American Rhetoric: Martin Luther King, Jr: A Time to Break Silence (Declaration Against the Vietnam War) Complete text and audio of Martin Luther King's Declaration Against the Vietnam War

Yearly credit to John Mack of Palmyra, NJ, for teaching a lot of 14-16 year olds Dr King's Riverside Church speech, so provocative it's still often ignored. If you don't know it, you don't know what he was really up to. www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/mlk...

Donald Trump's son owns 200,000 shares of stock in, and is on the board of, a drone maker that got a $620 million loan from the Pentagon, but I'm sure that's coincidental to the Chinese drone ban

We had a Tenda like yours. Finally got rid of it when we sold my mom's house. It had a 70 year run and all family members sat in it as babies.

Can't find the pic with my youngest brother with a beer bottle resting behind him.

I would hazard a guess that's he's just more forgetful. In the firehose of shit he's overseeing, there's just too much for an addled old man to reflect and act upon.

The Takeover of Malheur Kicked Off a Decade of Lawlessness The wildlife refuge occupation set the stage for Trump, January 6, and so much more.

Man I remember Malheur so well. Such a clear signal of what was to come. Some of the most privileged & entitled white men in the f'ing world engaging in open lawlessness in the name of their own imagined victimhood ...

... and getting away with it.

That's the true American template.
