‘You can imagine the harsh New York winter outside, Christmas creeping up on the city, the sidewalks slow-moving with hatted men and hair-done women leaning into the cutting chill from the East River..’

Soul-sapping, demoralising home defeat - just fine I reckon.
Here's an amazing story to celebrate the 50th birthday of Andrea True Connnection's More, More, More

He should‘ve been sent off a couple of minutes ago for a 2nd yellow offence. Ref chickened out.
When I got back from the shop with this I played it down the phone to my mate by holding the receiver up to the speaker. We managed to decipher about half the lyrics. Of course, it has the greatest B-side in human history.
PEOPLE are often asked what their dream job is. Mine would be third choice goalkeeper for a Premier League Team. Getting paid a fair old wedge to sit and watch football in great seats while knowing there's not much chance your boss is going to call on you really ticks all my boxes. If this magazine's editor happens to be in contact with any managers, please feel free to pass on my details. As a sweetener, I'd do it for half the money any top team's current third choice keeper is on. Adam, Manchester

The whaty what?
In this current harsh world, let's warm a few hearts remembering the events of 7-8 March 1991, when the 90,000 people of Brindisi woke up to find 25,000 Albanians roaming the streets of their town. For perspective, that's roughly equivalent to 25k people suddenly landing in Hastings [Thread] >> 1
Totally agree Mark #ALAW #MOT
Utter
Christ, yes, forgot about those. Remember seeing a lad walk in to a mod do in Bournemouth wearing a suit with a single stripe down one side. Just no.
Yup, Union Jack on the A side.
If this is confession corner, I will admit here and now to buying the Lambrettas picture disc of D-a-a-ance in 80. I knew it was wrong.
Photo of the cauldron of frustration Elland Road, home of mighty Leeds United, in the morning sun after an evening of horror
A cruel mistress last night, but like the masochist I am I’ll be back for Brentford. #lufc
Meat breakfast at Laynes, Leeds
This is cheering me up a bit this morning #lufc
The one I saw over in front of the East Stand was definitely Xhaka but he probably had an intimate moment with all of them.
Attwell does a solid for Bankes by shafting us. These tinpot twats are as bad at their jobs as referees have ever been & yet paradoxically have far more power than ever, & crave the attention & limelight. Attwell & Xhaka having a cosy little chat & giggle was infuriating. #lufc
I would imagine that after Saturday, & then that, he’s just a hollow shell of a man
Elland Road this evening
I’ve had more pleasant trips to the dentist than what I’ve just experienced at Elland Road. Fucking excruciating #lufc
Friendly wave to Arsenal at the Emirates from the train on the way up to Leeds today. Bit tired so had to give four of my five fingers a rest when waving
Yes, thats right! Took me ages to get the ‘Stach in Black’ reference last time so would have stood no chance with this 🤣. Cheery wave to our North London friends just now
Kicking Xhaka hard on his bad ankle early in the game would be my key strategic input.
Thanks to the orange shitgibbon across the pond it’s getting to be a pretty shitty world. So here’s some of the best music that (most of) you won‘t ever have heard before. Always feel better after a bit of rare soul & knowing I’m up to Elland Road tomorrow #lufc

Bit #lufc politics/religion heavy this morning, so going back to simpler times with this. May 1982 - can’t see me or my Lambretta anywhere but I was there. Mod was our religion.

We were really disappointed at the booing at ER last night. Its not just the players, it's the lack of respect for fellow-fans who may be observing Ramadan or fasting.
Think before you join in.
*All* Leeds, aren't we.

I didn’t see anyone moralising - just seemed like a healthy, respectful exchange of opinions.
Hi Rich, I’ll be posting from ER Tuesday night as usual. Perhaps you just don’t see *everything* that‘s posted here. Is that within the realms of possibility?
Sorry mate don’t think that’s the right way to look at this, and I’m not sure using the word ’panders’ is helpful. In a multicultural society (& sport) we should be respectful and accommodating to other faiths especially when health and wellbeing is involved. It’s a unique situation.
Six of us were on our way to Great Yarmouth on our scooters (me, Lambretta TV175) for the bank holiday rally & we got caught up in the traffic and general movement of people for this. As self-absorbed mod-obsessed teenagers we had absolutely no fucking clue what was going on. Pope? What Pope?
