Today in America, a gunman attacked a university in Virginia and another gunman attacked a synagogue in Michigan. Both gunmen are dead, but communities will long be impacted

Infuriating that our country refuses to take action to protect our schools & houses of worship.

Last week, ICE deported a six year old Deaf child but refused to let him take his hearing aids. This week, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) traveled to Colombia to return the boy's assistive devices. Republicans on social media are denying it or saying he shouldn't have gone.

ICE Turns to Private Industry to Track Down 100,000 Unaccompanied Children Yesterday afternoon, ICE ERO released a request for proposals (RFP) on SAM.gov requesting contractor support to β€œconduct safety and wellness checks of an estimated 100,000 unaccompanied alien children...

"Taken together, these scenarios show ICE is trying to build a fast-scaling monitoring apparatus for unaccompanied children while pushing much of the operational and ethical burden onto private contractors."

My friend Jocelyn, one of the Broadview 6, saw her charges dropped today. It was such great news, but her first thoughts were about people who are still facing charges here in Chicago and in Texas for resisting ICE, and of course, the many people who are still being held in detention.

Donald Trump has money for a war but not for health care.

He has money for ICE raids but not for SNAP food assistance.

We need leaders like @mattmaasdam.bsky.social in Congress to hold Trump accountable for this corruption.

The Non-Profit Security Grant Program (NSGP) for 2025 has been released, including the FY 2025 Dept of Homeland Security Standard Terms and Conditions. No, our congregation will not comply with the administration's requirement to neglect DEI and to cooperate with ICE. We will not apply for funding that is supposed to protect us if it means sacrificing democratic principles. Such an agreement would not make Jews or anyone else safer. As Jewish Council for Public Affairs Director Amy Spitalnick teaches us: Jewish safety requires inclusive democracy and inclusive democracy requires Jewish safety.

This administration has made synagogues less safe.

DHS offers security grants, but under Trump they've added requirements which many synagogues, including my own, will not compromise their values to makeβ€”insisting that we reject DEI and turn away the stranger, directly contradicting the Torah.

The wealth inequality in the US is on full display. No $ for healthcare, education, or human aid.

But we see how the Epstein class funnel $ to weapons of mass destruction used against Palestine, Iran, Lebanon & more in the region to destroy healthcare & education.

A U.S. Air Force KC-135 refueling aircraft has crashed in western Iraq with a crew of six. No confirmation on their status, but it is highly unlikely they survived.

Prior to this crash, nine U.S. service members had died in the War in Iran.

Voting should be as easy as possible. If someone wants to make voting harder, they don't want to prevent fraud. They just don't want you to vote.

That being said, our ability to vote doesn't matter if we don't use it.

Protect your right to vote. Use your right to vote.
