What I hope is the 'hook' of my series is an ex-bootlegger turned mob sleuth. So boss advice often sends my MC down very troublesome paths.
Showing mine seems a bit pretentious, so I'll just remind you to consider the classics, i.e. Chandler & Hammitt. Old enough to be hidden gems maybe...
As my MC is an ex-bootlegger, gambler, & mob member, he gets advice mostly from his bosses or from very dangerous men. So, yes he generally takes their advice. Takes it, not always does it. Risky.
