Mickey and the gang are now traveling in "Mickey's Trailer"-one of the best of the big 3 collaborations. Finally Jiminy gets the gang together at the studios, pitches his ideas, but the gang want Minnie in their picture as well so they head to Hawaii for a "Hawaiian Holiday". โค๏ธ classic animation!!

Donald Duck and Rover Boy
Jiminy wants Goofy on his show, but he's out fishing with Jiminy's nephew Wilbur in the short "Goofy and Wilbur". Donald is also on the want list for the show but Donald is out West attempting to ride a horse in "Dude Duck" (one of my all time favorite DD cartoons) ๐งต

Pluto blowing chewing bubble gum and blowing bubbles
Walt's love for golf is highlighted in "Canine Caddy" with Pluto attempting to caddy for Mickey while battling a pesky gopher. Next up is the classic "Bubble Bee" where once again Pluto is pitted against a bumblebee as they fight over gum balls! Pluto chewing gum is some stellar animation!! ๐งต

Jiminy Cricket talking on the phone with "the boss"
Disney Anthology recap time! 70 years ago on 3/7/56, we go "On Vacation"-a cartoon short bonanza with host Jiminy Cricket who has strict instructions to stay on budget. The only problem with creating his show is that EVERYONE is on vacation. What follows are some of the best shorts from the studio๐งต
Whoops! Missed yesterday's Disney Anthology recap since it has to move to Saturday instead of Sunday to keep the 70 year date accurate. Even I forgot about my own memo to start posting on the new day- stupid 1956 Leap Year! ๐คฆโโ๏ธ. No worries-the recap will be up shortly ๐
Today I got to experience the bat on a stick scene! Gut busting funny.
So I had a major setback with disc rot with one of the collections (burned copies) just when things were getting good-the big dilemma was should I spend $50 to replace that particular collection OR splurge and purchase the complete series....guess which one won out. Pretty snazzy I must say!! ๐ฆโฐ๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธ

Good mornin to you as well!
In a scene from the Star Trek episode "The Squire of Gothos," Trelaine stands jubilantly in his mansion. To the right of him stands Miss Piggy from the "Pigs in Wigs" sketch from the Feb. 2026 Muppet Show special. They're both standing in front of a large mirror which is flanked by candelabras, with a harpsichord to the far left.

Disney Legend Winston Hibler
Original movie poster for "Water Birds" released 6/26/52
The second half of the episode Winston Hibler takes over hosting duties as he introduces the Academy Award winning documentary "Water Birds". Programming note-because 1956 was a leap year we will be moving to Saturday's for postings about the anthology series to stay on the same date 70 years ago. ๐
A rhino on wheels!
A hippo missing its bottom half behind placed into the jungle river
A Jungle Cruise boat being placed into the newly flooded river
An original map from 1956 of The Jungle Cruise
Walt takes us behind the scenes on how the Jungle Cruise was constructed-showing how the animals were created and how they function. Then we take that long awaited cruise down those exotic rivers-no puns on this trip-everything is serious business! Politically incorrect natives still exist here. ๐งต
Title card for "A Trip Through Adventureland" first shown on 2/29/56, shown twice more on 5/2/56 and 9/5/56

It's Disney Anthology recap time! 70 years ago today (sort of-1956 was a leap year) Walt took us on "A Trip Through Adventureland". This is a fascinating episode for we get a first person view walking through 1956 Adventureland AND a cruise on the ORIGINAL version of The Jungle Cruise-no puns! ๐งต
