SWE: <clutching pearls> but the code slop!
SRE: <exhaling smoke> you haven't seen what we have seen. slop is as old as time, maybe older. some of us believe slop is how the Universe began. we make your slop run, or a bot's slop run, it's all the same problems, different day
jsad is a valid emotion
AI videos are getting really impressive. A friend of mine made this and I was like wow this is really good!

Great message to wake up to... thanks, #cloudflare.
Worst part of vi muscle memory: type type type type in some random app... finish typing, tap esc, all text clears. π‘
Haha, autocorrect... *Gitlab
I don't think I'd bother with self hosting girls for personal projects. I have forgejo/gitea running on an rpi and it's been solid. I keep it updated and do frequent backups.
Very cool!
Motorcycle in a field.
Motorcycle by a lake.
Motorcycle in a campground.
Did some motorcycle camping over the weekend. #z900rs #kawk
Curious about that motorcycle...
And now I have too ππ»
That shirt!!
Nice!
I found a handful of lb's that didn't get cleaned up when a k8s environment was torn down a few years prior.
Not a lot on the monthly bill but it adds up over time!

Get fucked, Google AI. Tone police my entire ass.
I was there recently. Now I have reading glasses stashed around the house. π₯Έ
I'm curious how much time he spends styling his dog's hair before they go out.
That's the Hotel California port.

In the end it's bittersweet. Problem resolved. Lessons learned.
But I could have done better.
After every incident I work I feel like I've learned so much, but feel so stupid at the same time. Why didn't I know that _before_? How did I not see that clue that might've saved a couple hours? Am I even smart enough to be doing this job?
Maybe we could have all ended our day sooner if I would have taken a step back and thought about the problem. Instead I felt rushed and pulled in too many directions.
I definitely learned from it though. Next time (if there is one) resolution will be swift.
And now I'm so happy it's over, but feel really dumb for not figuring it out sooner. Is it me? Was it what I feel were distractions? I'm really grateful for the people that stick around on a Friday night and I feel like I let them down.
I keep wondering how I didn't see it sooner. At the same time I'm communicating to the business in a slack thread, trying not to ignore questions/suggestions from other engineers, documenting findings, and trying to make sense of the information we have about a pretty complex platform.
The fix ended up being running dragonflydb on its own nodepool pinned to an older bottlerocket os release.
Now I'm beating myself up for not seeing it sooner.
