She/them. Adult. I'm mostly here to look at pretty art and cool science. Be aware that I do occasionally post about politics. These will be tagged with #Politics Banner by Artem Saranin. Avatar by Stxrgem on Toyhouse.

Map of Southeast Asia using heat colours to show relevant drought risk to vegetation productivity
π± How does drought affect plants' ability to take in carbon?
It's an important question for land use planning and climate policy.
We've developed an open-source approach to calculating drought risk to vegetation carbon productivity across different spatial scales.

Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.
Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

Exciting news for wildlife enthusiasts in the UK!
The country is on the brink of reintroducing elk, the largest deer species in Europe, with plans to have them back by 2028.

What I am getting from that choice of image is that my gut microbes are gay. Y'know, you're probably right.
Um, unfortunately, I don't recognise your username. Nevertheless, it's promising that you recognise my old alias and channel!
The sheer amount of thirsting over Jeff the Killer by teenagers back in the early-mid 2010s was really funny when you look at the source image. I know that beauty is subjective and all, and that I'm not into men, but I'd barely call him the height of attractiveness.

Oh! That's lovely to hear. I'm not sure whether we have ever talked, but if you remember your username and are comfortable disclosing it, maybe your name might ring a bell.

(The "romantic atmosphere" is in the fridge, of course!)
It's 2026, and I am still waiting for my little rubber aliens from 2005 to conceive. Maybe a more romantic atmosphere would help.

If we ever talked back then, or you perhaps remember my (now embarrassing, ha!) YouTube channel or blog, I'd love to hear from you!
I went by the alias 'Kerriecat', and played as a white-spotted cream winged wolf during the majority of my time playing. I also had a snow leopard with the same colour and marking combination and a bowtie, and a red and black arctic wolf with antelope antlers.
Hi!
I used to play Animal Jam during the early-mid 2010s, and I would just love to perhaps catch up with some friends from back then.

I like the idea of using #Firefox in theory, ESPECIALLY for its compatibility with extensions on mobile, but it's just slow enough to irritate me. I'm used to Chromium speeds, alas.
I am sticking mainly to #Brave.
If Chromium becomes extension-compatible on mobile, I will be a very happy bean.
My interest in YouTube has actually drastically *decreased* in more recent years. There's too much low-quality content and creators are too heavily restricted now, and have been for a while.
I used to spend hours browsing the platform, but now I watch maybe one or two videos on an average day.
You know what I am bitter about? The lack of websites specifically for children today compared to the 2000s. What we DO have today that is anywhere close to the size of big websites for kids back then could barely be called safe.
