From Jersey w/ the mouth to prove it. Philly fan. Short w/ a Napoleon complex. Bookworm & fledgling author. Weightlifter. Avid karaoke-er (stealing my mic is fighting words) & metalhead. I was a pirate in a past life & I'm a Leo, if that explains anything.
My kid, a senior at an art magnet school, made this stackable ring set. So cool!
Lol
Pen name & the real me. Shhhh
I feel like every other book in this series is good... this one included. Beyond the trigger warnings, the plot was entertaining & complex. The characters were surprisingly likable. It's unrealistic, as all in this series are, but it doesn't impact the story. Overall, I enjoyed the book well enough
This was suspenseful! A twisty, paranormal, psychological thriller with some gruesome events as the story builds to its crescendo. It was, to put it plainly, a complete mind fuck. A great read for spooky season.
The Knight and the Moth
Despite slow pacing at times, this series continues to impress me & it's not even my preferred sub-genre of fantasy. But the well-timed dry humor & dark sarcasm are on point. The story is engaging & heart-wrenching, with several "oh shit" audibles pulled as the conclusion neared. Bring on, book 3!
Best friends
I like parts of 1 & 2. Specifically, I like the opening in 1 (as well as the more sarcastic tone), but I like the summary of the plot from 2.. have you thought of switching them around a bit to see how it might blend together?
Or maybe that's me being difficult, lol.
Sounds fun, tho!
Trying to read. Teague & Apollo have other plans, primarily napping.
IMO, this was Scream x 13 Reasons Why. JLA knows how to craft a story & while I prefer NA to YA, the plot was engaging. However, it wasn't as suspenseful as I was hoping. I did appreciate the little twist regarding who was or was not the antagonist, though. Overall, an easy listen while working.
